Hello everyone. For a while now I've been pondering ideas and taking notes of a campaign that just won't leave my mind. So I would like to put it into action. The story takes place in the kingdom of Zah'Hargul. It is surrounded by 3 other kingdoms, Beshladat,ruled by Queen Amelia; The Kingdom of Azar,ruled by King Zekiel; Last, the kingdom of Nalsh,ruled by King Araka.
2000 years ago these kingdoms had once been at war with each other, thanks to a corrupt king by the name of Valek. He had been charged with communicating with demons and using demonic powers to gain territory and power for his kingdom. He had almost succeded in taking all 4 kingdoms under his rule but was stopped by four warrios of great power and great courage. Valek had gotten his power from a demonic orb,called the orb of diablo. This orb was stored in an underground chamber,sealed by a very powerful spell so that no one should ever try to harness its powers again.

It now begins with a young soilder named Magnus Fernheart. He's enlisted into Zah'Hargul's imperial army under his father's command. He's been positioned at the Kingdom's castle,where he must go with his father to meet the king about strange occurences in the forests nearby. But that is just the beginning, I can tell you more if you are interested. I know how to do terrain and I can tinker with computer's ai. But any help would be greatly appreciated, like a more experienced terrainer just to make the terrain look more enticing. Part of my inspiration was from fire emblem, so I just used its element of different kingdoms. That way I can still keep my story original

I'm sorry to break it to you, but a powerful orb from a powerful magician of old isn't origional. The problem lies in that something is almost always either a cliche now, or it sounds tacky. The trick is to have a twist to it, with deep as well as surface meanings if possible. If you do that, then this could be good.

Onto some details - what can you do? 90% of it wil be persperation; inspiration is cheap as dirt, so before you get a team, it is best to tell others what you are capable of.

a)He draws people's souls and feeds them to some demon while it grants him power
b)Valek gets some armor crafted long ago and when all pieces are united it summons a mighty God of destruction
c)He had made a book of very powerful spells and summonings that nearly destroyed half the kingdoms

I'm working on terrain right now,when I have time it's what I do for my maps. Besides that I work on diagloue and how the story and plot progresses. I'd do skinning and modeling to but I don't have the right programs. I'm trying to be original but most the good stuff is already taken:(

But that's the villain that nearly destroyed them then, the one of Magnus's age will be just as bad. The name of this campaign is the Realm to the Unreal...well not only does Ashtor(he is magnus's rival and the villain for his time period) get the armor/spellbook from Valek's tomb, I've been working on the prologue today,sorry. He has the ability from a spell he found in Valek's book that lets him open portals to other realms. By doing that he finds the realm with the demon/or god of destruction and he will get an anicent army,either undead or demonic and then try to finish what Valek could not

How 'bout a vampiric book of magic that drains life (or better blood) in order to work. Souls are overused :P.

I had an original story of a dark priest from which demons stole the ashes of his beloved demigodess, and he goes to retrive it, but other from that (story) i did nothing.

Hmm I guess, just I'm really hooked on the idea of him having a massive army. But what if it's just him who does all the destruction,would that be more original:OThe armor idea sounded good to me, because then it gives him an objective. To try to find the other pieces so he can summon the God and try to destroy everyone and everything. An assisant character developer would be nice..

I have the terrain done for the map,just need to add trees and the units. I'd attach it but I have to fix the triggers so that you don't automaticly win when it begins,aka remove melee triggers.

Here's a suggestion for making stuff origional - concentrate on the people and characters in it. Making a storyline's general theme unique is very nearly impossible now, but the connections between the characters and the storyline can be.

How good is your triggering?

You're missing the point. "What's more original, a tome or an orb?" It's all the same crap, it's all an aincent relic sealed away/lost in times long forgotten, and now someone/something threatens the world by uncovering it. It's the biggest fantasy cliche ever.

As long as the characters and gameplay are unique, I really don't care about the storyline anymore, since I prefer to read a good book if that's what I'm looking for. In wc3, I basicly want a storyline that makes somewhat sense and doesn't get plain stupid. Other than that it's the gamin-experience that counts.

Well,my triggering skills depends on how much I tinker with it. If i ask how to do it,and can get some kinda instructions,I can probably do a good majority of it,wouldn't say all because there's some I can't do but yeah. Should I write biographies about some of the characters

edit:If I can have some help with cinematics and someone who knows how to make triggers function properly(I put triggers but it's not working right:S)Then I can put the prologue map up if you want

does it help if i say i give rep to anyone who would like to help me
