]Now before I post my screenies I ask that everyone who decides to post a reply to my screenshots and terrain please apply cunstructive criticism. If you do not like my terrain then say so in a mature way and then state why you do not like them. One last thing I have created this map from beginning to end by myself and anyone who provides advice will be credited accordingly. without further ado here are my pics of my map. EDIT: I've followed your advice and when I finish the map i'll include the list of people who's advice and aid i've used and here are my new pics of the map Please take a look and reveiw. I've added them as attachments i'll remove them after a week as to conserve bandwith. |

They are all very flat, apply some height variation! You use very little tile variation, more variation will make a much more natural feel. In the third image, why are random mine roots sprouting out of the ground round nothingness? Looks odd in my opinion. You use blizzcliffs in a way they shouldn't (As seen in image 5, where you can see through the cliff into the black.) Don't use blizzcliffs when possible. In general this looks like a floor plan of where a terrain will eventually be, nothing like a finished product. I highly suggest you review our terraining tutorials for help. On a side note, it's better to upload images, not link to ImageShack. |

Thank you for the advice and I will take that into account and change a few things. I thought the blizz cliffs gave a more demonic feel as you watch the lord of Darkness run down the High mountain preparing to send his minions to destroy the last city. Oh and the vines are actually meant to be there like that although I should edit a few things about them. its called the Garden of Eschan and when you see the finished product you will understand. As I have stated in my thread i'll be making custom doodads to give the land a magical feel. And I used imageshack because I could not figure out how to upload onto this site. If its possible can you post the link for me so I can read up on how to upload. |

I know that it is a TD, but I always like to see atleast a few doodads. Without them, it looks very plain and boring. Also, I think symmetry on the paths in a TD can go a long way to help it look smart and more proffesional. Since you seem to have used the Cityscape tileset, I would definately stick in some columns, archways etc. And finally, if you are going to use blizzcliffs, you should smooth them over a little to avoid those ugly ripples, and aslo conceal the black lines you get with doodads. -Thanks |

Never use the Noise tool, and never use the blizzard volcano model. |

As Tim. said, the Volcano >>>RUINED!1!1<<< the whole thing. But, the others ScreenShots are cool ![]() |

I know about the noise i've smoothed it out so it looks better in the demonic City. I Used Noise in the garden of eschan because of the roots I want it to look like the roots are so big that they actually lift the ground up. I've smoot out the edges just enough to retain the look. I'll be removing the volcano as well after watching the starting scene with this it did look a little messed up. But you didn't say anything about the other pics did you think them to be to much or just right. I am learning as I go along and having a job outside of this reduces the amount of time I get to work on this map. Edit: here are pics of the fixed issues. |

I'm not a terrainer, so I only commented on things I was sure of. |

You really want my opinion? I doubt you can handle it. But if you want to...

Harsh.... What this terrain lacks is any flare. There are large expanses of flat nothingness on your map which really bring down the quality. BTW: Lol....my fault...sry....what are the chances of that??? |

the noise tool works not great but ok for doing large sections and than smoothing the sh*t out of them to save time...of course it looks better to use raise and lower.but yes your terrain is very flat, very plain, and very disinteresting except all the sfx you put on there that make me go wtf?! why?! |
