Just spent 3 hours going through every unit and trigger on my map...it still desyncs and I don't know why.

In unrelated news, I wanted to try my hand at spell editing so I downloaded Daishi's spell editor and it's crashes every single time I try to use it...crashes hard too.

My WC3 map editing world is crumbing around me.

Cheer me up.

Well, you could always take up skinning lol?

If the Spell editor doesn't work right, you may need to Format C: and reload everything.

If your map is causing desyncs, it may be due to you trying to show a cinematic to only one player or something like that. Don't do anything to only one player besides modifying units etc, since that will F#$% everything up.

We can't really help you fix the map unless you tell us exactly when it crashes and what triggers you have running and what files you imported into the map etc.

i've seen the map and all the triggers, there is nothing in there that causes desyncs so he prolly has the same problem that i had, WE corrupted the map and you have to go back to a previously saved version. Took me about a month to figure out this is what happened and i know it wasnt trigger related because i am using all the same exact triggers (and more) in my newest version which does not desync as in my old one which does.

It may help to check the map script WE generates. If WE is causing the error, it should be in there.

My problem is, when the desyncs started I just thought it was lag or people leaving because they didn't like my map. I only realized it was a desync problem when I watched a couple replays and saw that people left all at once rather than over time. The desyncs happened at v1.5 of my map and I realize it was a desync at v2.7 of my map.

It was my first map..I didnt even know desyncs happened.

AiAndy, how do I check the script that WE generates? It sounds like a worthy suggestion if I knew where to look.

Open the map WE saves with an MPQ tool. One of the files is the map script. I think it has the ending .j .

hmmm...removed every instance of a random command in my map and I've had 5 straight games without a desync...could jsut be luck but I'm hopeful.

Spell editor works now too.

My WC3 map editing life is starting to look up again...if only I could actually get my damn spell to work.
