Hey :) I was talking with a friend earlier today about it could cool if there were a contest somewhere. But I can't seem to find one, and it has been a long time since I last saw one, so I thought... what about we made one here? We could have like different catagories: Melee, RPG, Cinematic, TD, Minigame, Other, AoS, etc.. Also, it could be cool with awards and maybe one for people who hasn't had a succesfull map and still made a good map (a chance for me to win ;) ). An overall map award could be cool, then we could create awards like the Spell session ones. Well, before I think more about it, I would like to hear if it could be a reality here :) - Soultaker |

There was a cinematic contest a month ago. This sounds like a neat idea, but there are already so many contests running atm that it might make it a bit too much. I think a cool contest would be to make a hero, all custom spells, model or skin, and even have a terrainer make a nice demo map for it. Might be neat. But back on topic, the only thing is, this might call for some temwork, as making a whole map is tough work. And that would mean each member would get the award, so awards would be flying around here like hotcakes, and no longer be anyhting special. But this is just my view on it, it might turn out to be a fun idea. |

Making a full and complete map is hard enough, trying to play up on the general genres is boring. If a map making contest were to be held it is likely that the genera would be required to be unique. |

Yeah, that's right.. Well, I guess it won't be held then. Seems like people isn't in the mood.. On an other note, all the maps should be new, so it could be more exciting to see what people could create on a limited time. - Soultaker |

Yea joint hero contest would be cool. As previously said. Model + Skin + Icons + Abilities. You get a score for each sections and overall a final score. |

Yup but you must be allowed to use someone else's model. So you take some model and skin and add a story and make abilities (make not just write how they work), and you must search for icons for everything. that would be great... |

Hero contests, huh... Well, I don't really undestand the grading criteria that will be used for it. But okay, I can try that. Quote:
Models AND skins? Please don't tell me that half of the hero's grading is dedicated to only what they look like. That's just ridiculous. It'd be more of a fashion contest rather than a hero contest. Seeing a hero contest that uses 50% of the grading for looks just goes to show that looks count when it's actually the hero's skills that make them unique. Seeing something like that would show how sorry hero contests are these days. Sigh... And icons? That's the same thing for what I said about the model and skins. That's retarded. It's all for looks, isn't it? |
