Opinions on this button border

I would like some opinions on this border im thinking of using in a map:

could use a little bit more contrast, but otherwise its good. Show some examples of icons using this border.

This is just a quick drain:

It looks nice, but it wouldn't fit with the rest of the wc3 icons, so you'd have to replace all of them.

Yes the idea was to reskin all the icons I would use on the map, I think it would give it a more distinct feel.

while you are doing that, eliminate all blizzard icons. It would be a shame to import all new icons for the new border without changing all the images at least a little bit ;)

No point in using screenshots like that. It looks exactly the same. You either need to draw them yourself or get dramatic angles that you then edit to look better.

Personally I think the dullness it creates suites the border alot better than the normal bright version, any opinions on this?

I see nothing wrong with the original icons, if you want to use up space in your map you should use it on something that will draw in more attention such as models for units and doodads or custom tilesets. Just a suggestion...

screenshots never look good as icons in my opinion, though blizzard has done it themselves, they generally only do it for "inferior" models such as creeps or buildings.

Screenshots can look good in an icon when propperly enhanced.

True, but only when enhanced properly.

Any ideas on how to change the look of the icons without redrawing them??
