Darwin Fish

ABILITIES: the darwin fish starts off weak and gradually gets stronger (assuming he doesnt die in which case he has to evolve all over again)

at first he'll have a 10% movement reduction on land.

after 30-60 seconds (timing subject to testing) the penalty will be removed.

another 30-60 seconds and he'll gain the submerge ability.

............................... and he'll gain a 25% water speed bonus.

............................... abd he'll gain the burrow ability which will swap with submerge when he's on water or land.

another 30-60 seconds and he'll gain a constant 25% speed bonus on both land and water

and after another 30-60 seconds he'll gain his final ability of jump.

edit starts here:

60-120 l8r... or two it would gain evasion, (25-30% sounds balanced)

60-180 l8r: immunity to fishhook, possibly true sight

120-180 l8r: mana burn

120-240 l8r short teleport on either water or land (like elemental) (or maybe both, or something)

120-240 l8r: naga tracking device: would ping all naga on map (at this point its probably going a little to far, would need to c in balancing)

180-300 seconds later: either mass damage thing or teleport

and maybe (if it wouldnt take up WAY to much room) make it so that if it spent lots of time on water it would get water move speed and water teleport, water burrow, ect, or land then land move speed land teleport, something

of course the timing for all these abilities would need to be tested for balancing. but the main thing keeping him from being too overed late game is that if he dies, the timer starts over again.

and i think someone (probably MP, in fact, im pretty sure it was) had an idea like earth elemental, which would b pretty much a reverse water elemental

heh reposted our darwin fish idea? I still think that tans edit makes it too complicated. Doubt any fish would last that long in a good game anyway.

can grow trees? and number of trees upgrade over time? you can have more then one but big cooldown but less cooldown as u evolve and more trees (the trees will be used to blend in with the territory or just to block your base)

I'm afraid i don't like the concept. I've seen this idea many times before, and i'm here to tell you that its not easily doable, if at all. So far i've not yet seen a successful working of this concept.

Unless the change is very minor, the Fish is either too powerful at the end or too weak at the start, and i wouldn't be surprised to find that if the Fish dies at any point after about the half-way mark, thats it, he's fucked.

Hmm well, I dunno what to say. If you guys could please brainstorm more ideas for the Murloc, that would be nice.

I think this idea could work, it would just take a lot of thinking in terms of what gets added, how often and total time needed for completion.

I'm sure it would be possible in some way, but i can speak from personal experience when i say that its bloody hard to do so and i have not yet seen a successful attempt.

same problem u have with murloc now.... sucks for noobs but for someone good they would never die... and the naga item use would be a really good ability for murloc... with curse of the murloc speed boost and the ability to use naga items it would be fun for everyone... maybe the seaweed idea to but... that might be too much and make it do something different on land instead of lasting less, like mana drain and slow or something, that wouldnt encourage it to spend all its time in water, and how to do it:make it summon units and give em um... that expansion only human air units net ability, thats a channeling spell... but make it autocast
