Converting Half Life Models to WC3 mdls?

Ok, so i've been working on a Team Fortress Classic map on and off for a long time now, and have come to a stand still. I'm basically trying to just get the scout, heavy weapons guy, etc.. models/animation from Half Life over to WC3. No actual model creation is involved.
After unpacking a Half Life model, you'll find yourself with a whole bunch of .smd files. There will be a reference .smd, which contains all the bones, skins, etc.. Then there are several other .smds that animate the reference .smd. I'm using 3ds Max to import the smds and such. There are only a few animations i want to use, say run, attack, head shot death, w/e. My problem starts here. I have limited experience using 3ds Max, and have tried searching online tutorials to no avail. When i try to use the timeline to separate the animations they somehow get merged together or just foobared. I know how to export things using scripts and all that jazz, but i just can't seem to get the timeline working right. Can someone with a little bit more experience using 3ds Max tell me what would be the best way to import these animation .smds and translate it to a working warcraft model? Thank you for your time.

P.S. I hope this is in the right forum, i wasn't quite sure where to post, : /

World of Warcraft Content
This has recently been a problem propagating throughout the Warcraft III communities; and as such it is important to make it absolutely clear within our rules. Discussion of the processes of exporting anything from World of Warcraft is prohibited. The uploading of WoW exports will result in a warning. Should one continue in attempting to acquire or produce WoW models at Wc3Campaigns, they will be banned. Offsite linking to WoW exports is likewise not permitted. No map content containing WoW exports will be acceptable in our Map Database (Except in cases as mentioned below). This is a serious issue, do not take it lightly. Heavily modified WoW models, wherein the purpose of the original model is altered drastically, can be acceptable in specific cases at the moderators discretion. This rule also applies to exports of any kind from any game.
Read the rules before you post.

Most people at this site STRONGLY dissapprove of ripping models like this. There's no skill involved and all you're doing is jacking someone else' work. It's against the rules of the actual forum.

If you're still adamant about stealing someones work then checl http://www.wc3sear.ch - the site is slow but they're fairly adept at ripping decent models.

EDIT - Sorry, wasn't reiterating Olofs point, was already typing when he was :S

I'm just going to back everyone up and close this thread, I think. This kind of ripping is just bad.
