Skinning Contest #5

The theme for Skinning Contest #5 is CONSTRUCTS

You are required to reskin a model into an artificial life form, this does not have to be metal, it could be formed from any materials - such as stone, wood, bones.

This competition will last 3 weeks with possible extension - concluding 8th July 2006. Winner(s) will be decided by public vote.

RULES:

• The choice of model is down to the artist, but must be an existing model in Warcraft 3 (ROC and/or TFT). Minor model edits are permitted for particles, and materials. No UVW edits or mesh edits are allowed.
• You must post at least 1 WIP skin before deadline.
• To qualify for entry, you must post your .blp, an ingame shot and a posed shot (composition of images as you see fit).
• You must post your entry before the deadline expires.
• You must make the texture FOR this competition. You cannot use old skins.
• Textures must be no larget than 512 pixels in any dimension

Too bad Nirvana, would have been nice to see another of your skins.

On another note... woot first wip ^^. I decided im gonna try and skin a bone hydra. A 3 headed monster constructed out of the bones of various dinosaurs. I've only done the hed so far, but you xcan expect more later. I need ideas though on how to turn the legs and body into bone, since I cant alpha it out to make a ribcage, because then it becomes 2d.

I might also enter if I have time and have a really good idea...

Gab. if all else fails you could make it into a fleshy construct.
Technically that fits all of the rules and wouldn't require you to alpha if you didn't want to/couldn't.

By that I mean like show muscle and sinew (No skin!) between bones.
Also gives it more color.

You´ll see more, but not for this contest
For the skin, you can alpha out all the leg and leave just bone feet, that would give a ghostly look ^^

My first WIP skin for the skin contest. It will have a robotic theme, because I'm quite good at metal. I've manage to cover the whole portrait model so far.
I would personally call this skin "Mecha-Faceless One" until further notice.

I like the face.
