Detailed fish Strategy

>>>>>>>>>>>BASE SETUP<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Ok I can't stress this enough for the fish. At the start of the game, you want to build. ALOT. wherever you decide to make your base start massing buildings as quick as possible using the grid formation (with one space between your buildings). This will not only stop the naga from getting to you as quickly, but it will buy time for other fish to get a base going.

Do NOT build in a corner if you can't somehow get out. (if you don't have water blink, leap, teleport, or a teleporting staff) This includes water elementals who think it would be cool to build on land. Um.. no. they're called water elementals for a reason, and you should avoid land as much as possible.

>>>>>>>>>>>GOLD<<<<<<<<<<<<

get gold banks up and running as soon as possible. (I prefer to wait till I have 400 gold and get the lvl 4 bank) once you have a good income say 2 lvl 4 banks and 4 lvls 3s. you can start building upgrade centers and shops (or go for a little more gold first)

>>>>>>>>>>>UPGRADES<<<<<<<<<<<<<

get your upgrades to level 3 as soon as possible. the main reason being that you don't lose them if you die.

WISP UPGRADE:having your wisp spells take 15 seconds less to cooldown is a great aid to rescuers.

UPGRADED MASONRY: extra health for your buildings is always a plus. the longer it takes the naga to kill your base the better.

MAGIC RESISTANCE: 30% spell reduction, this is in the same field as masonry and perhaps more important. the naga aoe spells can cause massive damage to your buildings, this will help to reduce the damage.

RANGE UPGRADE: up for some naga killing? this upgrade will ensure that your towers are put to the fullest, more range means more towers hitting the naga at any given time, and that will hopefully lead to a dead naga.

>>>>>>>>>>>ITEMS<<<<<<<<<<<<<

as you are upgrading, buy yourself some items as well, an absolute must is the boots of speed. moving faster means you're less likely to be caught by the naga. the remaining 5 items branch out into two categories. Runner and Nuker.

RUNNER SET: the runner set includes the following and is designed simply to get away from the naga: teleportation staff, cloaking field, shield, scope, and silencing rod. (possibly a gem instead of scope if you dont want to be caught by those wards.)

NUKER SET: the nuker set is designed to kill the naga (with the aid of towers)
It includes the following: Nuking scepter, ion staff, mines, silencing rod, and cloaking field.

you can mix and match these sets as you like, but these are the two main set ups.

NOTE: frog should never get cloaking field and crab should never get shield.

>>>>>>>>>>TOWER SETUP<<<<<<<<<<<<

A lot of people will be tempted to mass a lot of towers of a single type (such as pain or stun towers). This typically is not the best setup. you'll want to vary the type of towers you place to increase efficiency. The downside is that this takes slightly more time (having to click towers individually rather than control clicking)

You'll want to have at least some feedback and slow towers in the mix to drain energy and slow the nagas assault. my personal favorite is a mix of feedback, slow, corruption and pain, but you can make your own setups.

>>>>>>>>>>AURA BUILDINGS<<<<<<<<<<<

Auras have a range of 12 spaces. so if you're building using the grid method they will effect 4 buildings straight out from them and 3 slantwards. keep this in mind as you build.

Towers should always be joined by auras. healing and defense auras ensure that it will take some time for the naga to tear them down, and fervor, command and spike auras, will help to kill the naga in the process.

(stay tuned for specific fish strategy at a later date, and feel free to post comments and arguments)

sounds pretty good but here are some instructions for playing a land based water elemental and for building bases without the 1 space grid build or some sort of variant (if yourve ever been fish with me you know what im talking about, dont even try it if your noob) suprisingly its the same thing

1. leave the game, dont fuck it up for everyone
2. grab a knife, cut the cord that connects you to the internet
3. either stab yourself, or if you that that would be too messy, grab some rope or a bowl of water, if you like water drown yourself, if u chose the rope tie a noose and secure the other end firmly to something high, make sure its to high for you to touch with your head when your standing on the ground, get a chair or stool and set it underneath, stand on it, put your head into the noose and jump
or if you want to be original, think of something else, and see if you can get IP banned from Bnet and arrested while your at it (just dont fuck up USwest)

and if your saving til 400 thats not smart, get 1 or 2 lower level gold thingys to help u get there faster
one fifty gold one will double your income, i suck at math but that will get u to 400 faster

also if your a runner try building strips of corals in the grid pattern to run through and delay a naga chasing you, and dont stand too close to entrance, naga can hool/shift/rock/voodoo you and just kill you, also when building group bases dont have one person do the right side one the left, that means your fucked if either of u dies, make one do the outside one the inside, so if one of u dies the other can survive long enuf to escape

also sentry towers outside your walls especially when your towering, so you can see naga better,so u have nmore time to escape or more range to attack

and just sentrys all over the place, its like maphack but better

I've found an excellent counter to voodoo, assuming you have some form of leap or blink, is to block up the entrances to your base.

I am slightly biased, i've died multiple times to Voodoo where other things simply wouldn't have got me, so i tend to do my best to stop it first ;P
