Everwood Tree

Well this was made as a request from Zurg, but I figured it might be useful to other people. The model itself was ripped from an ingame gluescreen, it uses ingame textures, and I edited the model and animated it.

Also, when using as a replacement for normal trees, to get it to work you have to change varations to 1, took me a while to figure that out :P

Give credit to Chriz. if you use this model.

The unwrapping of the trunk looks wierd!

Some roots would be nice, too...

Hmm, the trunk does look a bit weird, maybe you should add more polys, even the normal trees have more polys on the trunks.

Bah, I was just hoping I could get a resource out of this, didnt really expect to do much editing to the model. I guess I could try and Improve it.

The amount of polys in the trunk don't really matter, more would just be a waste as it is so small in game to begin with, but I can attempt to better UV map the trnk with the given texture.

Roots?

Better? I made the stump and the broken end of the tree lok like it was chopped or something, and the UV now looks more like the rings of a tree.

hmm, much better, although it would be better if you added more polys, this will do, jsut update the screenies in the first post and I'll approve it.

I didn't realize real trees used polys.

Nice tree, by the way.

... It is a cool idea, but you know you could have bypassed reanimation and just sellotaped it onto the normal tree model?

It was a request from somebody, so I figured why not do a good job instead of a half assed one?

You could look at it that way.

Then you must be importing it wrong.

It works ok in the editor, but in the game it is invisible. I use fog in the game, is that why? How do i fix this problem?
