What trigger do I use to change an Item's Name or HEro's Name?

You don't. It cannot be done.

Actualy, you might be able to do it, but only for units. I'll get working on it now.

I doubt that can be done unless you want to add a native to the game which would be kind of difficult to know how to change the unit's name besides that it seems that the name of all the units of a unit type is a unique string.

Well, its not really too good for "changing" names of units, its better used in other stuff. Just wait and see.
EDIT: Okay i am pissed, I cant get it to reappear.. Hopefully blizz didnt fix that in the patches..

If I had any idea on how to cause it I would have posted it already, this is a screenshot from my map (see sig) which a user posted on my forum. I have tried causing it with no success.

The text displays on the interface and everything, which should'nt happen.

If you ask me, it looks like maybe you displayed text that goes beyond the render line? Since the skin for the UI is alphaed at that location, that would make sense I guess but really, it shouldn't even be displaying text there if it wasn't rendered.

Translation: it is a random, one off bug or a photoshop.

Its not random, and its not photoshop. Seen it myself, about one year ago I was working on my map, it happened every single time I ran the map, in the same position/time etc. Certain configuration causes it, it can be duplicated every time, I am sure of it.

Has anyone tested the effect of a negative y value for game text?

It has nothing to do with the x/y values of game text, I used the default position for text (0,0).

I got it to work. Doing more tests...
