I am making a game on Warcraft 3 called Gantz. If you just want to join then look at the open spots. Its summer so I expect you guys to be serious about this. Once I get enough volunteers I will give you the link to the forums so I we can discuss this further.

Here are the spots available:
Director- Sixcon
Special Effects/Cinematics- OPEN
Missions Triggerer (Gui or Jass)- OPEN
Gameplay Triggerer- OPEN
Storyline- OPEN

Stats
Style: Survival, RPG,
Suggested Players: 2-12 (suggestd 6+)
Tileset:Cityscape
Map Size: Undecided (probably large to epic)

Gameplay
Cycle 1- At first you start off in a small room, you see a dark black sphere. You have about 30 seconds to click on that sphere, called Gantz, and to buy a "Redeem Soul" to load your hero from a previous game.

Cycle 2- Once Cycle 1 is over a Cinematic will play and will brief you on the mission (which is to kill an alien, not neccessary just one alien but several). Missions are chosen at random with over 24+ missions (our goal).

Cycle 3- Players then have a minute to "gear up" and start buying items to make their heroes stronger.

Cycle 4- Once 60 seconds have passed step 3 is over, the heroes will be transported out of the small room and into the "gameplay" area of the map. Which is described in the brief in Cycle 2.

Cycle 5- Players will then be given 30 minutes to complete the mission stated in Cycle 2.

Cycle 6- Once players finish the mission they will be taken back to the small room with full health and they will be given enough money to buy the "Go Home" item from "Gantz" and it will give them a code that they write down so the next game they can load their hero. Their "score" will increase depending on the number of kills.

Of course if they all die its game over.

Global Rules
Deaths- Once players die its over, theres no "ankh of reincarnation". This is a survival game so you have to take good care of your character
Score- A scory is a single item that increases for each kill. For each kill you get 5 points. If you send a unit, its 3 points. The item is stored in the hero and can be saved and loaded for the next game.
Items- There are going to be 2 different type of items, your "suit" (armor) and your "guns" (weapons). Currently there are only 1 type of armor and 3 different types of gunes.

The 3 types of guns are:
Sender Gun: A slow missle that when it hits it automatically makes the targetted unit disappear. It can also "trap" an enemy disabling it to move forever.
Blaster Gun: Deals moderator damage
Sniper Gun: Slow cooldown but high damage and range.
All these guns have a "slow reaction" hit. So the gun shoots, but it will take a while to hit the target. (the missles are slow)

Storyline Description
On just a normal day you were a victim of a murder or an accident. You think your last words of how you dont care about the world and stuff. Suddenly you find yourself in a small room with only one terrace with two windows, and on the back there is an entry hall. You see a car driver, a yakuza, a politician, a jock, a nerd, all types of people and many different types of people. Then suddently you see a naked girl appearing with lazers scanning it into reality. You ask yourself, was I transferred here like her too?

Is there a selection of missions (cycle 2) and are they solo or team missions?

Its totally random for the selection of missions (hopefully we get like 100 different types of missions so it doesnt repeat that often). And they CAN be a "solo" mission. Its a survival game and thats whats important. You have to kill the specified monster Gantz told you to within the time limit. And lets say theres only 1 monster, the player who kills the monster gets 5 points although 11 other of his teammates helped him.

This game is going to build enemies and allies (within the game, and out the game). You may lets say stay back and let your allies die until the monster is low health and you do the last shot to kill it. This game is designed to be addicting so you will keep playing it to get another mission and score points.

Glad to see you are encouraging team work...

Encouraging players to backstab each other generally turns out badly.

Thats actually a dilemma I'm facing right now. Its not that big of a deal, about 40 minutes of gameplay then it ends OR I can make it have an option for players to leave. What do you think?

To stay true to the Gantz Series, after each game they complete they are "free" to go back "home". Since they are dead to begin with, they are allowed to go back and roam earth as "free" living beings. Then as a couple of days pass by Gantz automatically teleports them to the room again. So maybe I can add minigames in between games?

But I'm not a big fan of long games since many people leave after that 40 minute mark. I guess ending it after cycle 6 could have many benefits such as making people rehost the game so other people can download it and its popularity spreads.

- Why not make some kind of "share bounty"-system like Vile made? Just standing around waiting for last hit sounds silly.. :/

Well its part of the strategy. SO players can "use" other players and then maybe backstab them later, if their goal is to accumilate points. However by killing other players you reduce your chance for survival because the aliens are really strong. So its teamwork or your death. So maybe the team itself can decide who gets the last hit and stuff.
