"how to you make model packs? like tree linking variations etc, and linking stuff for wc3sear?

thats english!

linking through mdl, like wc3 trees, like how they have variation and stuff like that, scratch's head*, its hard to explain.
Or how you make model packs like at wc3sear so the uploader asks for the other linking models.

argh..too hard to explain, but im sure rdz will understand what i mean.

No this is english.

"How do you make model packs? How would I make a tree system among models?"

And what do you even mean with this, "and linking stuff for wc3sear?".

Do you mean how models are setup as so:
Human
Human/Knight/
Human/Footman/
Orc/Grunt/

Etc?

grr..argh...no, model packs. heres an example.
like how rdz hosted more than one model by linking them via mdl data so the server would ask for the other models
here is an example:

You don't link trees, they just share a similar name. Export some trees and observe the names of the models.

To link models, look at a naga building, it has a mdx attachment near the bottom. That's really all you do.

Example (my spinners):
Code:
Attachment "Item" {
	ObjectId 1,
	Path "item_model.mdx",
	Parent 0, // "Bone_Center"
}

Yeah, list of attachment points, with the "Path" property set to whatever. Apparently wc3sear.ch will check all the models for the needed textures, but I put them all in the dummy model file just to be safe.

I know this is unrelated, but I've noticed a couple maps where people imported the dummy model too.

I wonder, does 'search script ask for the textures needed by the linked models?

It does, I'm pretty sure.

I think N00byStance already did a model pack tutorial, to be honest. People flood anyway.
