hi im asehujiko and im new to these forums im also quite new at making maps in wc3, thats why im posting this idea here instead of adding it in my own maps floating weapons these things are normal units, with everything other then their weapon model removed, making them look like the weapon is floating in the air i think that the arthas with frostmourne model works best for this because of its animations for it(the sword falling from the sky) the problem is that i lack the tools to edit the model correctly and the knowledge of triggers to let it work ingame my first post in these forums btw |

Download War3FileConverter (from this site) and Vertex Modifier (www.oinkerwinkle.com). Oh you need WinMPQ too. Open war3.mpq file or war3x.mpq depends what model you need. Extract the model. Convert it to .mdl using war3fileconverter, open the .mdl with vertex modifier. Select the weapon vertices, invert selection (somewhere in Edit), press Delete. Save the model, convert it to .mdx using war3fileconverter and import it. |

Nah, that would just screw the model's geosetanims. And it would still have hundreds of useless keyframes. The best way to do it is probably in notepad. |

This is very simple, and something I've thought about a few times. I'll see if I can get round to making an animated scimitar tonight. |

Hmmm, I'll move this, it's a model issue. |
