So in that sense, people don't have to make the skin for this contest? They can submit anything they've done already? |

Then how is this a contest? It's just a showcase of skins? |

To be fair, I think it would be a wonderful idea if every so often there were a real contest where you had to take one request and everyone had to try their hand at it. Then the winner would be decided by public vote (Much like the normal skinning one) and everything would be happy, I would give you rep for whatever it's worth and I'll make a pretty little reward you can put in your signature. I think if you do a skinning contest because of the zomg reward, you're probably doing it for the wrong reasons anyways. And I guess this is why we don't really have any unofficial contests, I mean come on, everyone keeps beating them down with the excuse "No rep/icon thingie? WTF!". Personally, I think we should give these unofficial things a chance. I think that idea might work just because the current skinning contests are always themed by X or Y, whereas if you took someone's specific request and everyone had to do their take on it, it would yield a more specific result from different interpretations. I think it'd be awesome, I just wish I wasn't such a dud in PS. |

Why do people have to steal my emoticons! Rising_Dusk; I'd give this contest more than 5 seconds attention if the rules were even half sensible. Right now they're just stupid. |

Oh, I really wasn't talking about this contest actually. I was just noting on the idea of an unofficial contest that might be nice to pursue. Sorry I wasn't specific enough. :P And yeah, upon reading the rules of this one again, I agree. They are scattered and all over the place, not coordinated. Also, there's no theme. Sure you don't need one to be super specific, but a theme usually tells people "Hey let's join this one" or "Oh noez, bad theme, I'll sit it out". |

Eeeexactly. Ya'see, I wouldn't join a spell making contest if the theme was "use your imagination and make a spell". It allows for too much variation, you can't really compare a jump skill to say a skill that eats trees to recover mana or some such. The same applies here for skinning. |
