Pact of Vengeance

My entry to the Blizzard's first mapmaking contest. It came fourth, awarded with a "honorable mention".

As required by the rules, it is a story of revenge beyond life and death. This is my first cinematic which includes story, and I've done my best to make it the most important part of the movie.

I consider this to be my very best cinematic, also thanks to the awesome original music by David Vaughan (Melda) and voices of Haushinka (Arialla) and Lavarinth (rest of the roles).

I'd like to thank everybody at the Dwarf Campaign Forums for their support and feedback, during the making of this cutscene.

The duration is 5 minutes.

OK, you're the boss.
I thought it looked better and was easier to read previously...

Melda's music is very good...

Indeed. When I first saw the movie with music, I was amazed how much have the music intensify the whole experience.
Since then, I believe music to be one of the most important aspects of mapping, even though it's often overlooked.

The dialogues could use some polish and the timing some fine-tuning, but those are all minor complaints. It's a great cinematic, with lots of attention put to detail, on the terrain, in the sounds and movement, everywhere.

It looked a little funny to see how quickly people either died or were knocked out by a cane. Otherwise, I really did like the cinematic :D

Ask a fried, or better yet, ask an enemy of yours, to hit you on the head with a 2 metres long wooden stick as hard as he can.

Or maybe don't...

Anyway, I would have the characters fight a little more, but that would require all new unit animations at least.

The stick was hitting the chests - at least, for me - and if so, I blame that on WC3. If not, blame it on my eyesight.

I really liked the touches on detail, like the arrows protruding from chests.

I liked the cameras in this one, excellent job. A lot of detail was put into this.
