Hello What do i have to edit in the WarCraft 3 Files, that all playernames are red? at all maps at every time |

it's none of my business, but why on Earth would you like that? |

Even if you do figure out a way to do this, it's probably only going to show up for you - everyone else would likely see the normal colors |

I have absolutely no idea, nor do I have any idea why you'd want to but... there are... uh... programs... that can do it, but I would advise against them and you won't find them here... This is an easier way that I think should work; just call it at start up. JASS:function ChangePlayerNamesToRed takes nothing returns nothing local integer i = 0 loop call SetPlayerName( Player(i), "|cffff0000" + GetPlayerName( Player(i) ) ) exitwhen i >= 11 i = i + 1 endloop endfunction Mentioning that, it might be possible to mod the melee startup functions to include that, but of course the drawback of that is that it would require modding the files which would prevent you from playing with others that don't have the modded files. |

If you edit your warcraft files, it will only work for you. Note: Quote:
Notice your, your effecting your computer, it will only work for you. If you use Naakaloh's method, it will work fine ingame, but not before the game started. |

it should be only visible for me, not for the other players... i want that before game start, (when the others download the map) all open slots are in red! i have chenged something in the war3.mpq but nothing happened! |

Try War3Patch.mpq or the rest of the others. Failing that, you can write a loader. |

Still I see no reason for this. If you did that it would be because you want your name to be colored so everyone can see you in red. Wanting to make everyone’s name in the lobby red just seems like a silly and pointless exercise. |

Yes it does, you might aswell get a coloured pen and draw on your screen over there names. I also thinks its pointless, it does nothing. |

He just wants open slots in red. It seems like a pleasant idea to me... |

Theres nothing exactly bad about the idea, its just that its not really got a cause for help, its something so little and theres not much point to it. |

but how can i do this? what is a loader??? please help me i cant understand english very well, so i dont understand everything what you say... i havent found tutorials to this topic. i only have seen tutorials for maps but not for general game modding |

Modding your game creates 2 problems: Other players need the same modified files. If you play Melee, you'll likely cause other players to crash and Blizzard will ban your CD key for hacking. |

I used to have a GeFore 440 MX graphic card and it's ventilator broke. Apart from generating nasty sound, it also turned all texts in warcraft red, when the card began to overheat. In fact, it turned all previously white graphics red and screwed vertexes on all models. |
