Beyond Azeroth: an RPG

07-09-2006, 09:43 PM#1
Hey its X
I'll get started with the story.

Medivh watched over the land of Azeroth for centuries. He saw many horrible things, the rise of Arthas' kingdom, the reign of chaos, the defilment of the orcs. He could bare no more of this torture that the humans, night elves, the undead and the orcs had implemented on the world. He summoned all of his supernatural energy and founded a new world. It had many features of Azeroth. All of the races had been restored, but the undead had not. Little did Medivh realize, natural instinct would kick in. Jelousy, Hatred, and Murder happened as often as it did in Azeroth. So, Medivh summoned A select group of races from the new world. The goblins, the orcs, the humans, the spiders, the night elves, and the naga. Little did these chosen know that an even more exclusive group would become, adept, powerful, and even, heroic. As a new doom slowly approaches the new world, These chosen rise to defend it. For the new world, for Derathal...

Features of this massive rpg are...

new heroes from the barely used races of the goblins and the naga.
a new world with nations for all of the races.
hopefully a skill bar like in WoW or guild wars (need a jass pro)

making screenshots of the capitol city of the goblin republic, KAAPOWWW.

heh. few lore things (im a complete lore nerd)

he wasnt killed by some random captain he was killed by anduin lothar and khadgar, as well as a cadre of others(garona in the book).

medibh is only, at the time of his death, 30-40. not centuries old. depending on the version of the retcon you are going by, that is. he was knocked unconcious for his entire youth when he turned 13, i believe it was, and lay dormant from 5-15 years, depending. when he woke up, he was possessed. when he ws killed, that all went away, and his mother used all her power, years later, to revive him, sargeras-free.

in warcraft 3, he is the same age as at his death, or very near to it, so roughly 30. his MOTHER was the one centuries old (she closed in on a mellenia old before she gave up her powers)

In WCIII he is ageless, he's not a mortal nor an immortal, he's a force of fate bound to right the wrongs in his life.

actually, nah, hes not. aegwynn ressurected him shortly before the 3rd war, after her banished her away.

:spoilers, for those who care. look away now, or feel my full onslought of lore nerdism:

cycle of hatred, the latest book to come out, revealed that medivh sent him mother away after their fight, and she went to durotar (before it was named) and lived on a butte for many years with the leezards and kodos. she slowly built up enough power, over many years, to revive medivh as he had been before sargeras took over his last vestiges of sanity (presumably shortly before he opened the portal to draenor), with nothing of sargeras left in him. completely drains, she was unable to set up her own wards of magical protection, so medivh did it for her.

jaina, while trying to help thrall with some rampaging leezards, found her accidentally, took down the wards, which allowed a demon to find them. long story short, after all of this, aegwynn grew to respect jaina, and became one of her court advisers, living in theramore now.

while it wasnt ever said whether or not he is actually...dead now at the end of war 3, he "takes his place amongst the legends of the past", which i took as we dissapeared.

Hey its X
hmm, if that bit about his age was in the RoC campaigns, i wouldnt know cuz i never bothered to play them. :( but if he is part demon, he must possess some serious magic... maybe not idk

hehe, take my word for it, or look it all up on www.wowwiki.com. that is simply the greatest warcraft site for story and characters.

ive added a few things of my own, in fact.

And like any other wikipedia site, it's a good general indicator but should not be used for specifics.

Aegwynn might have ressurected Medivh, but she didn't ressurect him in the usual "Undead" manner, he states during the RoC campaign that he is no longer human but something else entirely, you'll also notice he can't directly interfere with any of the races, he can talk and attempt to persuade them with words, but he can't actually physically intervene.

It's also apparant that he can see the future, something which is not part of his Guardian powers, Aegwynn couldn't see the future, though she might have been able to 'sense' parts of it, neither could Medivh until his reincarnation.

And yes, Medivh was slain by Lothar and Khadgar, in the original WCI you have to kill him, and while you don't have Khadgar (he doesn't exist at that point) you do have Lothar. When he was slain, Gul'Dan was inside his mind and the resulting mental backlash sent the warlock into a coma for some weeks, Sargeras's spirit was also banished to the void when Medivh fell.

yes, he was. he was who told lothar that medivh had lost his last bit of sanity, and it was medivh that turned khadgar old (khadgar is actually only about 19 or so when medivh dies, and stormwind falls shortly after. despite his age, he appears to be roughly 70 or 80 because of medivhs spell).
