Heh, I knew it couldn't be as simple as placing them on the map, that would have just been too easy... How to you make elevators that activate when you step on them and actually allow you to step off them? Basicly I have an elevator beside an elevated area, initially the elevator is set at height of level 1... I have a trigger that makes it move to height level 2 when you step on it, which appears to line it up properly with my elevated area which is one height higher then the level beneath it, but Im entirly unable to walk off the elevator to the elevated area, and thus I end up being trapped on the elevator. |

Nope, still not working, I get get on the elevator and it goes up but then I'm able to walk off the elevator. Trigger: Elevator Up

Trigger: Elevator Down

As I said I can easily get on the elevator initially and it seems to line up perfectly fine with the next platform but I can only get on it, after it goes up and cannot walk north off the elevator. But I also noticed when attacking a target on the northern area where I'm blocked from going, I was missing the target as if it were on higher ground, even though the elevator and that terrain seem to be level exactly... |

Well I have no idea, didn't think elevators would be this ridiculously hard to create... But I cannot step off the elevator once it goes up, if you can find anything in my trigger or screen shot let me know, but it seems as if it still considers the elevated area to be higher then my elevator at a height of level 2 and prevents me from getting off. I even added a 1 second delay before it activates the "down" trigger just in case it was conflicted when I got on initially. |

Ok, I found out why, its because I forgot to place the elevator wall doodads on the elevator... Although now I've encountered a new fun problem. I was able to place elevator walls on the appropriate side of that elevator... Yet the other one I have placed I cannot place elevator walls on it at all... It just doesn't let me place them. In fact placing these elevator walls im general seems extremely buggy... I mean one minute it doesn't let me place elevator walls at on the elevator, and the next it does, this is really wierd. Can anyone help? |

Turn on pathing (press P), and check if you are using the proper elevator wall (horizontal or vertical). |

Actually you need to put invisible platforms on your elevators wherever they cross over a cliff, your dealing with the Cliff's pathing as well, so unless you move the elevator in so it overlaps the cliff, you need invis platforms there. |

Yeah, on your screenshot, the corridor in which your elevator is is too wide. Turn on the pathing display (press p) and see for yourself. Also, you don't have to place elevator walls, because the close/open elevator wall functions do that for you. If you do place them, however, they must overlap the edge of the elevator, so you have to hold down shift while placing them. Also, as already mentioned, pay attention to what kind of wall you're placing, horizontal or vertical. |

Would do you mean vertical or horizontal elevator walls? The only 2 variations of elevator walls I can see to place are "Elevator Wall" and "Elevator Wall (Dead)" There is no horizontol or vertical option. Edit, ok I see, you just turn on random rotation... But at any rate, if I leave these out, the elevator in the screen shot does not work, only if I place the elevator wall on the north and south end does this elevator work... And I cannot place any such invisible platforms, on or anywhere near that elevator... |
