I want to make it so a player can see without bounds

Ok, you know how if u have a player's camera rotate down so they look directly across the ground there is a black mist that apears as space goes on to prevent the player from seeing to much of the map at once? How do i disable that? Im not talking about Fog of War (which i disabled) or the Black Mask (which i also disabled) im talking about how you can see 100 yards or watever and then the terrain grows black over the next 20 yards and you cant see anything past it even though you have a vision modifier that allows you to see past that point on the map. thats confusing isnt it? well maybe someone will know wat im talking about and be able to help me out

You can't see beyond the map because there is nothing there to see. If it is a problem, border your map with high mountains to block the abyss.

no, thats not wat i meant. wat im talking about (man i wish i could think of a way to explain this better) is imagine if ur camera was looking from a character's perspective. Now imagine he was looking over a plain of land that stretches 300 yards. Using triggers ive enabled the character to have vision over the entire map but he can only see 50 yards ahead of his character and then a black mist covers everything else (Not fog of war because he has vision over everything). as the character walks he can see more and more of the world not because its being revealed but because he can only see in 50 yards in every direction default to prevent lag from him accidentally seeing the entire map at once (thus causing massive lag). Im working on a cinematic and i need to disable this somehow.

Edit: Kind of like in World of Warcraft. you know how your character can stand at one end of the barrens and look straight out towards all the barrens but not see it all because a misty shrowd forms a few hundred yards in front of ur character. as you walk the shrowd moves with you.

terrain fog...?

Its terrain fog, but it won't help you as the skybox cuts into the landscape, so if you disable the fog instead of having stuff gradually fade in, it will sharply appear.

You need two things:

1) disable terrain fog (or put it further away from the camera) with the "Environment - Set fog" trigger

2) make the "FarZ" parameter of the camera greater.
You can change it either by holding ctrl pressed and scrolling the mouse wheel.
Just don't fogret to apply those changes to the camera when you're done (Set camera to current view)

The other option is to doubleclick the camera and change the "Far Clipping (FarZ)" to a greater number.

But be careful to avoid lag when using this.

Edit: When you are in map properties, try changing the Field of View a bit too. It's a powerful tool of camerawork.

like king klear already said, be aware of lagg, this will mainly be caused if you see too many doodads in a certain view.

Ok thanks guys, ill give it a shot and see how it works

This is so gay. Ive been messing around in the triggers and stuff and i found something out... theres a max limit to how far your camera can show before the fog sets in. For some retarted reason you cannot set a camera to see past a certain point. So my entire cinematic is ruined because of that ... I cant show the entire battle sequence at once which makes the entire cinema pointless. thanks for the help anyways guys and if anyone knows a way around this plz let me know!

Reduce the size of all units as well as distances between them, making the battle sequence fit in a smaller area.

hmm you can try setting the farZ clipping on the camera options, and you can also remove the fog or let it set in later.

That won't help... I've reached this limit before too.
I had to move the camera as well as all of its closest surroundings.

However - I believe that if you could really make the FarZ as far as you want a play a battle scene from that point of view, you would most definitely get so much lag, that you wouldn't see anyting anyway.

i already have the FarZ at its max. I guess the only thing i can do is listen to Bulletcatcher and make everything smaller.

make it smaller or move the camera while you display the battle
