I've known this for awhile but it never really occured to me why, because it makes no sense at all to me why you cannot select unit variables as part of a specific unit events.. It seems to only serve limited options, because player unit event and generic unit even have mission options and forces you to do more complex triggers for something that should be simple. |

Ask blizzard, they crapped that up along with a few hundred more things related to WE |

Um...you can...I've been doing it for a while now...that's the whole point of the event, to use a unit variable and have the even trigger off that unit only. I'm not sure I understand your question right, but you can (actually, you have to) use unit variables with that event. |

Specific unit events in GUI require preset units. If you want to use unit variables, try adding an event to a trigger whenever you declare your variable, those allow the use of unit vars. |

"Um...you can...I've been doing it for a while now..." Well then your clearly using a different editor or a modified editor... Because in a "Specific Unit Event" You can only select preset units, not set variable units... On to a related question, so how do I make it so an event triggers when a variable unit takes damage or a unit comes within range of a variable unit... Because both of those events only allow me to select pre-placed units on my map and not variable units. |

Just register damage event for every unit entering game area |
