Map Popularity

Hey Guys,

I was wondering if anyone has suggestions on how to get the map more popular.

The problem I am seeing is the map is not newb friendly. Anyone have any ideas how to make it more appealling to the masses without destroying the gameplay?

the prob is, the avg custom map gamer, if they dont do good their first game, they quit/flame/dont play again

maybe and ez mode for first time players, and i dont think this will get imba, czu u can announce it

y would someone want it easier, if they are good, that is no fun

Yeah whenever I host hte map I get about 5-6 people, and no one really wants to do naga abd I do it... and then I beat them and they get pissed off, so I really dont know.

Naga is really fun imo, I love playing it, dunno why others don't. As for EZ mode, how would it work? Short mode was my attempt at easy mode since it "Plays" the first 10 minutes of the game for you.

Well usually people dont play again if naga or too good, or if fish are too good...

how about a system that helps out a team every 10 minutes depending on how the gameplay is? if naga have alot of kills, slow their speed, or if they have no kills slow fish speed... or something for a noob mode.

That would take all the skill out of the game. If your good you get a handicap to even it out?

In my opinion I want to strive to make both sides as balanced as possible. Then, your if have superior skill you should dominate.

that is the prob, no matter how balanced, some ppl wil always be better then others, and if 50% of the ppl who try/play are like normal map players, they will leave/never play again once they get ownd

there is nothing u can do, which is where the ez mode comes in

if ur new, u type -new mode or soemthing, and things are easier

announce it so everyone knows, so if u know aperson isnt new, u can be like

But what would it do to make things easier?

stuff has more hp,costs less, ur faster, have more hp, etc.

i find that the game is popular for those who know it all people who ive seen host it about 4 outa the 6 people who played it loved it but they couldnt host it im thinking we need a bunch of people to host it just for popularity a phew times and mass it for a day or somthing so its well known then everyone would play it

No people on Northrend knows about this map almost, I have actually only seen it hosted 1 time on there. I think what you should do is get people you know to host some DL ONLY games on the different servers every now and then to get the map out there.

well the problem is: fun shit usually isnt noob friendly. it just isnt, the adjustment seems like a good idea, make easy mode, where whoever is losing gets stuff, that way in pubby games it would get nooby bitches (the type i dont really like to be in games with, because they kind of ruin it, by camping, being retarded ("how do i right click?" "how do i bild things?") and generally being total assholes) to continue playing, and decent players could play normal games that DONT suck, basically it would be for games filled with noobs,,,, or if all good platyers are on one team

Anyway, if you guys could help out by hosting DL only games that would be much appreciated. Like if your going to dinner or sleep or going out just host one up and leave it running.

You lot are actually all entirely wrong.

The reason the map isn't hugely popular is because it is balanced. Your average tag gamer doesn't like balanced games, they like them to be rigged one way or the other so one team (usually the people running away, though lately there's been a spate of tagger riggings) has it much easier than the other team, but it is still possible for the other team assuming that the team that is rigged is largely noobs and\or idiots. Vampirism is a great example of this, the game is generally heavily rigged towards the farmers, but that evens out in the end because theres usually 5 or 6 noob farmers and 2 or 3 good farmers, and the noob farmers provide the vamp with lots of feeding, evening it out.
