read the bottom 2 parts first (the quotes) and then if neither of those links helps u then try mine, read THE WHOLE THING (and opy it to a file on yer comp) before u do it tho, i think i already said this but i think a bit of redundancy here is neccisary

ok, if the Bnet thing doesnt help you, look at this

first a checklist of reasons why you cant or shouldnt host, and solutions for some of them, if you meet more than 1 of these or are really strong on one of them, dont even try to host
1. you have dail up, if its AOL theres a different solution: get DSL, for AOL users kill yourself, or whoever is paying for it, and if it wasnt you, get DSL and cement your mailbox shut, unplug your phone for a few weeks or have fun with AOL disks, i used a hammer reason: dail up is to slow to host anything good and will jsut piss peopel off, u wont get a good game if anyone ever finishes the download
2. if people who spam go piss you off solution kick that bitch, but often there are to many to start a game
3. if really stupid people piss you off solution: if i told you i would have to kill you, but it will be finished... soon MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA
4. if your retarded
5. if you frequently go AFK until the load starts
6. if you forget that your host and spam go solution: kill yourself , or have a friend do it, trust me, if theyre really your friend they will already have their weapon of choice or a poisoned sandwich
7. if u do things like go in a tag in a 1v1 solution: get some firewalls, some antivirus programs (for u i reccomend norton antivirus), and remove the "G" and "O" keys from your keyboard, a flathead screwdriver works quite well
8. if you some other type of crappy ISP: get good internet

also if u have norton antivirus: first unplug your internet, second: attempt to remove it, and reformat your HD, do not attempt to save anything, it has been tainted third: expose yout hard drive to a powerful magnet fourth: smash it with a highly magnetized sledgehammer, make sure none of the peices are lost for sep five: put it in a vat of acid on a spaceship heading for the sun, with a nuclear self destruct in case it gets off course, then just to be absolutely safe travel back in time and kill your great ALL your great grandparents before any of them meet, and
the same is also true with AOL, except with AOL u should also shoot your hard drive a few times, watch for snipers and check everything u eat for poison and make sure not to go near any large crowds where they can take u unnoticed or secluded locations where they can hide the body easily

if you arent any of those things follow these directions (computers only, i cant help if u use an apple, unless your hungry, then i can give you detailed instructions on how to use em)

ok, this is the complex way, and will allow u to host on pretty much everything but leave u totally unprotected and will probably involve resetting your entire network ect ect, if anyone else uses your network, or you answer to your parents on computer issues, you should probably ask them first. or w/e, blame it on penguins, they were probably planning to do it anyway so theres no harm in that



go into your router, if you dont know how to do this contact tech support (if its the one your ISP gave you they should know what the default IP is) type that into your web browser (the thing your using to do this, see where it sez "http://www/wc3campaigns.net/showthread.php?t=84504" thats where u type it

copy paste this into a text file on your desktop, just in case you are still reading this off the internet

onece into your routers interface look under firewall/security options, then into fire wall ect ect, different routers have different menu's but look for a feature called DMZ (DMZ can usually only work for 1 comp at a time so open whatever port u use for WC3 for your comp, the default is 6112 but one port one comp can use it at a time, so if u have 2 comps u might use ports 6112 for one and 6113 for another, this is also a safer option if u think they are watching u and are naive enough to think a firewall will stop them, or are paranoid about viruses) this will totally open up the selected computer, opening all ports and placing it outside the firewall, try hsoting now

if that doesnt work go into controll panel, select "switch to classic view" and go into network connections, right click on your connection and go to properties, in advanced it should have a button marked "settings" next to some stuff about windows firewall, disable it by clicking off, if you do NOT have SP2 installed just uncheck the box, if its already unchecked dont worry (if you ARE using XP with SP2 or probably vista when it comes out, just add WC3 to the exceptions list and u can turn your firewall back on, but im sure u all know, it will be quite pointless because they will still be watching u, even if your webcam and mic are off...)

still cant host? back to your router! turn off the firewall, shouldnt be that hard to figure out, again, if u need passwords contact your ISP or if the router isnt from them the manufacturer, and scream at them until you get one, or if your lazy try "password" "guest" "admin" or the companys name the model number of the router, w/e

if that didnt work go back to your router, look for a feature called DHCP, this is the part that will require you to totally redo your network, so... im not liable for anything that goes wrong cant sue me hahahahahaha u dont no who i am MWAHAHAHAHA

at this point it would probably be a good idea to find your ISP's primary and secondary DNS's IP adresses (google it), write these down you will need them later

ok, back to the router... look for a feature called DHCP, turn it off, go into network connections again right click on the connection your using (do this part for every computer on your network) select properties and double click TPC/IP, type in an IP thats in the range that your routers DHCP thingy was using, use your routers IP as the gateway and the subnetmask should be automatic, enter the primary DNS and secondary DNS adresses that you wrote down earlier...

double check this and do it for every computer on your network

if you have a more complex network setup PM me and i might be able to help you, but if your going to do something like that you should REALLY know wtf your doing first

but ya, your probably fucked

if this didnt work try resetting everything and again COPY THIS INTO A TEXT DOCUMENT! highlight this text and press controll C then open a new text document, click somewhere on the white part and press controll V

and if you have a more complex network that 1 or 2 computers connected to a router PM me

also if u have wireless u should really set a PW even if its just a simple one
