Need help with a model

I've been trying to animate this model for some time; it's the only one 100% compatible with a program Oinkerwinkle was developing but never finished. For a while I was animating just for fun, however I think the animations are turning out good.
Now, I would turn it into a fully compatible unit for warcraft, but my problem is, the mesh itself is too poorly detailed. What I would need is someone to increase the detail on the mesh, something that I cannot do without screwing the model, but I think it's easy to do with Max & co.

If anyone would be so kind to help me here...

We're making serious progress. Guesst has been chugging away at a marvelous piece of kit that's already revolutionised Milkshape modelling. It shan't be long now before we get flawless animations (unless he burns out from the pressure tomorrow ).

Nope, I'm not going to spend my money to mod a game. Beside, I don't think I'm asking much here; heck, I've also avoided to ask to add attachment points.

Psh, attachment points are easy. And Milkshape can do tonnes of games, and is generally good.

I don't think there's an easy way to do what you're asking in 3ds max while preserving the animations.

I know it has an option to increase the polycount of the mesh. I remember someone posted a high-poly version of some regular wc3 models in the old gallery, last year.

It would be possible to get it in and and run meshsmooth or something, but it would lose the animations, from what I understand.

Tim.
You CAN import MDX animations into Max, but you CAN'T export them back to MDX without quite a lot of work.

You can surely get the skeleton and just Anim Transfer them back on?

Indeed. It doesn't matter if it lose the animations. In the worst case, I'll remake them.
