Overview

Requiem For a Dream is a cinematic I did a year ago. It is a cinematic that attempts to display a story without the use of dialogue. It is a story of a married couple. A farmer who was once a warrior is forced to go to war and defend the empire. While the wife at home is lost when grave news of her husband comes. She is willing to do anything to see her husband again.

It's quite a nice cinematic.

A few things that are annoying:
• The battle is uncontrolled, leaving units running around doing nothing, which makes it seem like your everyday wc3 battle (which in fact it is).
• The normal combat sound really ruin the atmosphere. If you could remove them that would be great.
• The camera is shocky as hell. Either dont move camera to camera or use a camera system.

Other then that its wonderfull, and ill approve it.

The biggest fault is indeed that you can still hear combat sounds in the background even when the cinematic is no longer showing the battle. Simply pausing all units when the battle ends would have fixed this.

Then there were the occasional chops in camera movement when the camera reaches a "waypoint" and is sent to the next one.

Other than this, the cinematic is good, it has nice atmosphere and terrain.

I sent iNfraNe a new version in which there are no combat sounds. It is fixed now (Thanks iNfraNe). Thanks for the comments everyone.

No bad at all, the initial view of the cinematic gives a great impression and even without words a picture paints a thousand words, good job. To say the least im impressed :)

I really liked this one, for :
-good terraining and atmosphere
-original idea
-no dialogues and yet story perfectly clear (cause it's simple, but anyway)

What I didn't like : the model for the hero doesn't go well with the other soldiers - a new skin of footman would have been better I guess, and the battle thing, also the "pause effect" when the hero dies.

The last pictures when the girl throw herself in empty space are really beautiful, it reminds me of good cinema movies.

Pretty rocking cenimatic, I would like to know how you comepletely covered the background in black while only showing the units model.

A few things, I think you should rework some of the scenes, so that the creshendo of the music is during the battle rather than the women walking around, although there is a sense of power with the lower parts of the piece along with the more powerful parts, it works either way, but it may be more fitting for the combat part.

the music is so haunting, and that movies sound track is one of my favorites.

I'm glad you enjoy it. The black wall thing is pretty simple, all you need is a simple floor/carpet model. Set the tint to 0,0,0 and make one for the floor, and another for the wall (-.157 roll angle).

Good but very depressing.
