Extremely Effective Protection Method--What is it?

I've seen a couple maps that give up this error:

<
This application has encountered a critical error:

Not enough storage is available to process this command.

Program: c:\program files\warcraft iii\worldedit.exe
Object: WERandomGroupSet (.?AUWERandomGroupSet@@)

Press OK to terminate the application.

I've heard it's an extremely good method, but never how to do it. Does anyone here know, and if so, could they give me a nudge in the right direction?

I am sorry, had not heard about it nor expired it, as I do not like to copy, I always re-create form scratch.

They call it Vex's Map Optimizer.

All protection methods can be easily reversed, if wc3 can read it anyone can. So no its not an "extremely good method". Hiding/removing some files is good enough. If someone is interested enough to fully deprotect your map he's only there to see something, not to claim the map to be his.

And it's done by Vex' program, along with alot more stuff to optimize the map (not only protect it)

In which case you could probably just ask the maker the question you needed answer rather than go through the unprotecting process. :D

Either way, Vex's optimizer shrinks the map size as well as making it unable to be opened in the WE (If you check the boxes to do so).
It's what I use, and what I recommend everyone else to use as well.

It "is extremely effective" because there was a WE hack out there that was able to open a map even with missing/corrupted wtg/wct . But modiffying w3i to save space seems to cause it a crash no matter that hack was loaded

Yay! More odd error messages! Thanks for the replies all, but any idea what this is?

Not enough storage blah blah.
Program: c:\program files\warcraft iii\worldedit.exe
File: E\Drive1\temp\buildwar3x\STOMR\Source\SFile.cpp
Line: 898

Yay. Errors.

The first error message I believe you can get by trashing files, the second one you get in your map by corrupting the w3i. AFAIK those are the only ways to crash the editor on load.
Moved to gen dev

Ah, thanks.. Well, that's not good. Is there any way to rebuild my .w3i?

Read the rules.

You've actually got all the information you need in front of you, but you'll have to work it out for yourself.

Yeah you are allowed to ask how to protect a map, but you can't ask how to deprotect a map

Not true. Some jerk who played my Day of Defeat: Charlie game said "im gonna make a better one" unprotected my map, and then taunted me by whispering me my custom sounds and triggers. He attempted to make a copy of my map using the EXACT same sounds, but it blows. It really, really pissed me off. I got his address haha, his name is "r00t." on battle.net. Look at my profile and you can get his address. From then on I always use Vexorian's map protector.

I suggest asking the map maker for how they did this and that, if you could borrow their custom sounds (with credit), etc.. Some sounds and models I make myself for some games.

I never try to do things to a map without their permission. The author of the map I'm messing around with actually invited me to try, so I'm clear in that aspect. Not to mention, I can't do it. So I'll give up now. Let this topic die please.
