Ok, so I'm sure that I've heard of tutorials for modeling with 3DSM version 8, but I can't find them anywheres! Can someone plz post a link to a tutorial for 3dsm8 wc3 modeling for me? Thanks! ![]() |

We do not directly support 3dsm8. Besdies, there are tutorials that come with it. Read them first. |

excuse me i should have specified. i meant tutorials for modeling wc3 models in 3ds max 8. theres a lot of em for 3dsm5 |

ya, i know thats why; but i was still hoping there would be some tutorial someone could piont me to for exporting models into max8 and stuff. |

you mean exporting them to wc3...Aniway, modeling in 3ds max 8 is the same as modeling in all other 3ds max versions (only a little better, due to some nice additions). For exporting to wc3, try using Dex exporter. And no, I can't help you with that for I never used it. |

well ya u guys dont directly support 3dsm, but you do support wc3 modding. and part of modding is modeling, and modeling requires a program like 3dsm so as long as i want a tutorial for modeling using 3dsm for the purposes of using those models in a wc3 map u are indirectly supporting said program. :) |

.... so what you guys are saying is if i asked for a tutorial on skinning you would tell me "we do not directly support photoshop, ULEAD or any other skinning programs"? |

The problem is not about supporting from this page, is about the VERSION of 3dsmax, the tutorials offered here will help you to model in any 3ds version, but, if you want to export your model to mdx, you WILL have problems, because the art tools ONLY work with version 4 and 5 of 3dsmax. |

Any tutorial for 3dsmax5/4 should also work for other versions of it, except for the exporting part, which is covered here. |

No, because we do support Photoshop. But if you asked for a tutorial on skinning for an obscure image editing program nobody here uses, then yes, we'd respond with "We don't support that." We could point you to tuts with other image editing programs, and that's your best bet. But as everyone is saying, we can't give you a 3DSM8 tut, we can give you a 3DSM4\5 tut, which should work with 8 as the difference between 5 and 8 is that 8 has more stuff. |
