Well, I'm making a Castle Defense map... and I would like to know if it can be in brazilian language, before posting it... Because it is nearly finished...and it's fully translated to brasilian(portuguese)... Is this a problem?Because it will be very nice... but I'm afraid to don't get approval because of the language(like: people won't like my map because they dont understand some things...etc) Can anyone tell me if I will encounter problems like this? Thanks...and sorry if I posted in the incorrect forum ![]() |

There is no language Brazilian, just as there is no language called American. The language is (Brazilian) Portuguese. And yes, it would be a major hurdle, what with this being an English-language site, and very few people learning Portuguese to a sufficient degree to be able to do much. |

BTW -> how does blizz maps make so when you join like Skibi Castle TD, you play your language version of map? o.O btw... sorry but don't waste your time uploading Castle Defense map here, it would have to be UBER and I don't believe Castle Defense has uber potential. |

They dont, you'v probally just been lucky. Each country gets their own translated map, but when you join a game, if you dont have that countries map, you will have to download it like normal bnet maps. It just seems as though it gets translated. And btw, if you wanted it in a non-english langauge, you should put small english descriptions atleast, otherwise it wouldent probally be approved. |

Blizzard uses externalised strings. And this does not belong in general development, please take a look at the forum descriptions before posting next time. Your map would most likely not be approved if the language is not English - If the staff and users that are not speaking Portugese don't understand it, it will be annoying, and it will make them unable to play it, and it won't be approved. |

EDIT: Something bugged and it copied my message before. Blade, im sure of what i said, they do use externalised strings, but their are maps with different versions with language, i remember playing a french version because the host was from france, i downloaded the french version like another normal game and it played in french. |

We are an English site. Your map can have other language versions, but there must be an English version. |

You could make the map so that in the beginning the host can choose which language everything should be in? I have seen this in a few maps (you were able to choose between russian and english). |
