Don't use 8. Use 5.

You don't need to use bones, they are just helpful.

Think what would happen if you have a 1 milion polygons mesh. Try moving and adjusting polygons so they flow corectly at every keyframe. Of course, if you want to make your animating a living hell, then please don't use bones.

On how to use bones, consult the 3ds max tutorials that come with it!

TDR the War3 bones generally aren't as necessary as the max bones =P.
