Hi there! I have a question about the local network game: I want my map to be playable also with only 1 player (1-8). But everytime when I want to test my map, WC3 says, that you must have an enemy to start the game! Yes, I know, this message pops up because I have no computer-player-slot set up. I also could easily make some computer-player-slots, but then when anyone want to join the game he sees wrong players (for example for 1 player and 1 computer-player-slot: "2/9" , but it should be "1/8" !). So how can I get rid of this thing? I'm glad about any help. |

Where is this 2/9 and 1/8...? |

It comes when someone want to join, then when he clicks 1 time on the servers name, then he sees a few details and there is also the player numbers shown. And here is the problem. 2/9 would be shown for example... Do I have to change anything in WE in my map to be able to start a network game without computer-player-slots and with only 1 player? |

Are you choosing a slot to be a computer player after creating the game? I though that slots that were assigned as computer players in the World Editor did not count toward the total number of slots taken/available. Even so, it's a rather minor issue, I wouldn't worry about it; I don't even look at those details because typically I know who's joining my network games anyway :/. |

I added computer - player - slots through the editor over "scenario" and there over "player - characteristics" & "armed force - characteristics". Oh, yes, by the way I remember 2 options I want to ask what they are good for... perhaps they have something to do with this problem: In "Scenario" -> "Player - characteristics" and there under "control" you can set it to User (that is clear) or Computer (that is how I always make it and then this wrong numbers appear - 2/9 f.e. ) or Neutral and the other... Now what are these last two options good for? |

Well, Neutral seems obvious enough, it's a neutral player. Other I'm not sure about, try it and see if it affects anything. |

ow, right... it almost works... The good thing is that the neutral players won't show up and so it is 1/8! The bad thing is that you still can't start the game with only 1 player... Any additional ideas Naakaloh? EDIT: I found this from another thread: Quote:
So that 1/8 is shown? EDIT2: Well... if noone has a clue... then I want to thank you for your help Naakaloh. I will then make the map for 2-8 players instead of 1-8 if I get no further suggestions from you guys... It is unfortunate, but well... it is a network game, so there should be at least 2 players in it. |
