Hey guys, it was some time ago I modeled now, but well, I've finally skinned my templar model that's made for a new game. (Holy war, a mixed RPG, RTS and FPS) 1480 tris. Oh and sorry for the blocky arms...... :\ |

ohh i like...but i dont like the torso it seems like a big rectangle..maybe the cloak type thing just gives it that appearance though.. |

Rectangular?! Err, could you explain a bit further? Anyway, here's a wires shot. Here you can see the blocky arms, but really, I'm too lazy to add more to them (first, it was meant to have a lot less polies, but I've added a lot later) |

Looks cool, but he seems stretched too much, maybe make him a bit shorter (torso) |

Actually it's the skirt that's making him seem tall. So it's actually not too off IMO. |

god dammit, people!!!!!! You're driving me craaazy!!! 1500 polys is VERY low poly, for crying out loud! It seems out of proportions. The head is smaller than the helmet, so you figure out the rest :P. |

His helmet needs to be a bit bigger, and he's wearing chainmail on his feet, but other than that he looks good and has a decently low poly count |

EDIT: to be exact: "For Glue models or non-warcraft related pieces." But sure, you're the modeling mod TDR, so feel free to move this if you don't think it fits too well here. Anyway, yeah, now that you say it, I'll scale up the helmet a bit. Of course he has chainmail on his feet, it's not like "oh chainmail, forgot to fix!!1", templars DID have chainmail boots. |

Nobody wore chainmail boots, thats a really silly thing to do. Most boots were padded leather with some plating on them, but chainmail boots would be really impractical. But there's no real point in arguing over something that unimportant |

Just to end the arguing, a quick google search: http://www.deryni.net/images/templar.jpg http://www.markchurms.com/Merchant2/.../templar-l.jpg And of course it's important, this is going to be a realistic game EDIT and as I said, if this model don't fit here (it's not a warcraft model, so I thought it fited here according to the "For Glue models or non-warcraft related pieces." thing), just move it to the unique models forum then. |

Guys, really no more crits? Come on! :) |

I agree with the post about his chest, there is not enough definition, the robe thing certainly contributes to this though (as well as he being unanimated) 'cause I feel the same way about his thighs o.o His calves also seem a bit undefined. The skin is very nice apart from the cross, which seems to be completely "straight" although he pic is taken with a slight angle. The chain gloves look really nice also, dunno if I would trust *one* image, people have been wrong in the past |

No comments in quite a long time....I like t. I wish people made more medieval of units. Warcraft is fine, it's just it's unpractical to wearing so much heavy armor...I like this normal style.Simple chain mail. Not to be too critical, but I believe this is more like a Hospitaller than a Templar. There's no red cross upon white tunic. But still, that changes nothing about the model's overall good-looking-ness. |
