Hello everyone! I believe this should be my very first post on this website. I'm glad that I've found about wc3Campaigns, from what I've seen, I'll enjoy browsing around. However.. I do have a problem, and if someone can help me out, I'll be more than thankfull! I'm trying to put into a SpellBook (to a hero) 12 custom abilities. From what I understand, each ability has its unique ID, and if you got more abilities with the same ID then the map will get buggy. This is my problem. I would like to create 12 custom abilities (in fact, none of the above will do anything, they can be the same ability but with 12 custom different names so I can use it with scripts -ability being cast is ...-) but I simply can't do it. Is there any ability in that editor list that won't make my map crash or bug? I am looking for self-casting abilities, something that you can click on without selecting your target or the place where to cast it. Hero spells are out of the question, since I will likely use all the hero spells avalaible in this map, and I can't use the spell and the custom spell that's based on the spell. I also understood that there is one ability in that list that doesn't have an unique ID, but I don't know which one (I assume I can use that 12 times?). Please someone help me, I've tried without luck for so many times adding custom abilities that made this map crash that I'm going insane! |

Channel; change it so that it's Instant (No Target) and change the order ID to something different from each spell, I believe that should work. |

Also, you can only fit in 11, as there is the cancel button as well. |

Thanks for the replies both of you! However, how am I able to change the ID's? |

Just in the field for it. Only channel and spell book have that field. |

There should be a field, Base Order ID, or something like that. |

I'm slightly confused. Should I look in the Object Editor for that one? The only thing that relates is "Text - Order String - Use/Turn On" which has 'channel' and I can pick a number of other things. Either I'm terribly blind, or 'Base Order ID' does not appear in the Abilities/Object Editor neither on the Spell Book or the Channel. Oh, and how exactly can I make the Channel spell appear in the Spell Book? I've added this ability in the spell book but it doesn't appear, and the spell book has nothing else in there. Should I make the channel spell non-hero? Change the Art - thingies? Data - Disable Other Abilities which is 'True' should be set to 'False' ? And thanks for helping me out guys :) |

In the Data - Options click the Visible to make it appear in the spellbook (if you have added the spell to the spellbook that is) and the field to change the order id is: Data - Base Order ID its just under the Art Duration field which is just under the Tooltip - Learn - Extended :p hope you find it |

Nope, I don't have either the Data - Options or the Data - Base Order ID. Actually, on the UMSWE I could find the Base Order ID, but I couldn't find Data - Options. What is happening to my world editor? o.O And heh, the spells don't appear on my Spell Book. I've put a different Base Order ID and still nothing appears, not even when I put only 1 ability in that Spell Book. I guess that that Data - Options isn't on 'Visible', but how can I turn that on? *mumbles something about stupid abilities preventing me to work on my map* Can anyone help? |

Do you have the latest version of WE, and also for any addons you have? Level 1 - Stats - Base ID should be there (close to that). |

and yet another important question.. are you even looking at the Channel ability? and are you using TFT? spellbook doesnt have the Data - Options field... |

ofc it works. without the Data - Options "Visible" marked, the ability wont be shown even how many times you add the spell. |

I would like to take this opportunity and post here instead of starting a new topic which would take care of the same question. I finnaly made a spell book hold 11 custom abilities based off the Channel one. Here comes my problem. Even though the 11 abilities are distinct in name and ID I can't seem to have them all in the spell book in the same time. (Some times 10, some times 4, some times 6, each time a different pattern). I can't tell you how vital it is to have all 11 different abilities (which won't do nothing other than being triggered by a nice code for some effects) in the Spell Book. So my question is, HOW exactly can one have 11 different abilities in the same time in the spell book? Can YOU do it? If so, HOW? |
