WT 30 - The Dark Tower

Come, Roland, the voice of the Dark Tower called.
Roland walked the final path through the field of roses.
Commala-come-come, Roland, now the journey's done! cried the sweet voice of the roses, the voice of Can'-Ka No Rey, the voice of a hundred, a thousand, a million universes.
Each step seemed an eternity of eternities as the voice of the roses prodded him on, not harshly, but gently.
Come, come, Roland! Come, come!
Roland no longer controlled himself. It was dusk now, the clouds golden and purple from the sun, all gathered at the one point, the nexus of the universe, the center of everything, the pinnacle of space, time, and size.
COMMALA-COME-COME, ROLAND! COMMALA-COME-COME!
The voice of the roses overpowered Roland as he reached the base. He cried over the voice of roses, over Can'-Ka No Rey, over End-World, over the Gilead-that-was, over everyone and everything.
"NOW COMES ROLAND TO THE DARK TOWER! I HAVE BEEN TRUE AND I STILL CARRY THE GUN OF MY FATHER AND YOU WILL OPEN TO MY HAND!"
