Blizzard Melee Map Contest

Go here, it explains it better than anything else.

I didn't see this posted anywhere else, so I decided to toss it out there.

Brings me back to wondering (again) how many people actually make melee maps these days.

I actually made one before AotZ that was never released or anything.

I was contemplating fixing it up and lobbing it at Blizzard for the contest.
It's quite fun actually. :P

i think melee maps are fun to make bcuz its only terrain that you need to tthrow in

That's not the fun part to me :P

This would be great for all the awesome terrainers out there to make : ) Maybe get a crack team out there and win one for wc3c!

I think we should stop hogging the contests and let other ppl win

I'm polishing the map I barely started for the One Million Dollar Melee Map Contest (don't ask :P), I hope it does ok :)

Yeah, it's basically a terraining competition with requirements for usability in a melee map situation.
And we do have a lot of incredibly good terrainers.

Also, so far as the rules say, it is NOT limited to the USA this time.
I say a lot of the people from this site should participate.

The only thing is the terrain must be done with absolutely no custom doodads, that takes things to a new level. Assuming you don't forget to give creeps items or something, the rest is easy :P

I guess ill take a stab at this, so far my map is pretty interesting looking, i've only made 1 melee map before, so this is pretty new to me.

No you can't. The rules state it must be a melee map, and making a custom doodad removes the melee map status.

haha, melee status does not depend on the content of the map...

I'm pretty sure Vex is correct here.
I'd have to check to be sure.

Even without custom doodads, I imagine it would still be fun to do as at worst a challenge.
