Art or Eww?

ack.. im just hoping this topic wont cause some probs..or any harsh comments or hate..eek.

anyway..

what is your opinion with painting with certain things? But im mainly talking about blood.

I just find it adds more of an.."un-named" but magical touch. Abit like painting with certain fruits to paint that fruit.

Sure, it can give unwanted results sometimes..but i find it magical...and im sure alot of other artists argee and i understand some you find it wrong, but i want to see more opinions and views..rather than insults and things like "its just not right".

And im not refering to animal blood, im refering to human blood, any in general but mainly the artists.
plz, i didnt make this to gain attention to myself, im not like that trust me..i only want opinions(sensible ones).

so please..understand i just want to know..im not saying that hitlers the best guy in the world so dont start fights plz..i only beg..

well its umm... definately art... but umm...i am not sure if i would say eww or not unless i knew how the blood was acquired(donated, forcibly given, etc.)

well, by means of accidental harm, period or self harm terms.

Painting in blood...

I wouldnt do it, but I dont really see a problem with it as long as you're clean about it.

EDIT: That is if the blood is your own... no painting in other people's blood.

If you want to paint with your own blood, thats your buisness, i'd say nay, mainly because the blood will decay away after a few months, which could really ruin the effect. That and it is kinda icky.

Painting with other peoples blood is definitely just bad however.

yes, the blood doesnt last long, only less than four or more days...

Firstly, humans are animals. So when you said "no animal blood" the first thing I thought was "dont all animals have blood?".

Secondly, sure go for it. Go to one of those Blood Donation Centers and take your blood with you if you can. Otherwise, as popularly said on WoW.

I think that showing blood and guts in a painting is not good. Even if the painting is about huge battle scene where people disembowel each other.

When drawing anything -even scary, bloody, or both try to hide it. then people will not only view the image but kind of read the painting, and in their own minds will complete that "unfinished" "hidden" part of the story(painting).
But if all guts and blood are everywhere then there is nothing to think about, it is all there, the image will become boring.

This is Dante and Virgil in Hell(two figures in the back), and even in hell there are no blood gushing out from people

My point is:
Blood is not only bright visual effect but also a physiological meaning of self-sacrifice, pain, death, love. Use blood only when necessary.

Painting in blood... I don't see any point in doing that, exept it matters what you are trying to paint.

If I would paint in blood, ... I would paint my self portrait.
Or if I did an illustration about war then I might use real blood to paint blood.


I don't see anything good from that, I think is it pointless

im not allowed to say much detail or ill get banned by my dad but ja, i use it on certain pics, mainly the ones i draw when im in..err..moods..

anyway...drawn blood doesnt bother me or the real thing, but it catches my attetion in anotehr way im not allowed to say..
