Guest | v1.10 beta released Get it at www.geocities.com/decade_stranded Please send comments about this new version to [email protected]. We think it's a pretty big improvement over the last version, but don't have the guts to make it final yet. We are especially interested in information about the game when it's played in 8 player games. Whether it's too easy or too difficult, too slow or too fast, etc. Enjoy the improvements, Decade List of changes: Hopefully solved bugs: Bug 1: If game creator dies, the game would end for everyone. - The trigger that executed when a player died was a unit event, was executed as a triggering player action instead of a triggering unit action. A severe case of sloppyness here and undetected because the game creator was usually the one knowing the game best. Bug 2: If someone left after the the game creator has pressed start (thus during the countdown), the game would never start. - We had only events that were executed at 0.01 secs rather than at map initialization. Now at least one trigger has this event. General changes: - all monsters and heroes have been fine tuned. The game now has the maximum of 100 custom units! - lots of minor trigger changes (generally for reasons of efficiency) - Ingame messages have been rewritten Changes to the cooperative mode: - In eight player games too many monsters would spawn, which made them come at you too slowly. The engine that takes care of spawning monsters has been completely rewritten and is much more efficient. Also instead of increasing the number of monsters, it now increases their relative life. Monsters are also a lot faster now than in previous versions. - All quests have been rewritten. Though energy stones are still the only way to get the commmunication station online, it will not always be a matter of finding the stones and bringing them back. You now follow the story of a geologist who discovered that the planet's core had some pretty special features. Changes to the competitive mode: - all shields have gone (these cheesy game tactics have gone) - enemies are pinged every 30 seconds - new items are available (alter computer alliance) - new units are available (battle droids, poison pods, hunter seekers) - existing units have been changed - heroes have twice the life they used to have in this game mode - extra powerful ammunition has been removed (no more vulcano runs, no more unique drops) |
