I got the idea of a new map that uses custom armor and attack types. I have done this before, but, this time I have 8 attack types and 8 armor types I want to use. I thought this was possible, and I renamed all of the types to what I wanted. It fit fine, however; going into the gameplay constants, there are only 8 attack: armor sections, one of which is Ethereal which isn't an attack type (that I know of?) and melee/normal are combined into one attack type. I used melee/normal as two seperate types in the interface menu. What is the easiest way for me to use 8 armor and attack types? |

If this is the only method, looks like I'm going to have to. That means I'll have to rebalance all the types >_< Okay, I think I can pull this off with triggers. If I made abilities that don't do anything, but are placeholders for attack/armor types, would it be feasible to check, on every attack, the attack type of the attacker and armor type of the defender based on the abilities they have? So for example, if I had a 'siege' attack type ability and 'fortified' armor type ability, if one unit attacked the other, could I check the two abilities and modify damage? And if I could do that, if I had a hundred units and another person had a hundred units, would it be too much if the game was constantly checking for all the units? |

Sorry for bringing up a fairly old topic, but I was doing a search and this came up. Where do I actually go to rename the attack/armour types? I can't seem to find them? Found it, I just didn't look far enough ---> Game Interface. |
