I am trying to start a map from scratch

I am needing to know how to start a map from scratch and you guys seems to know what you are talking about,if someone could send me a link to a page or something to get me started in the right direction I would thank them alot

Indeed we know a lot, so much in fact that we don't have the time to type it all - so please, be more specific in your questions to save us all some time. What part of making a new map from scratch are you having trouble with? What kind of map do you wish to make?

Yes, that would definatly be the first question.
What type of map?
The type of map can effect the maps size, tiles, theme, and complete layout.
But if your asking a simple how do you start a map question, from the start, then its Control+N or File --> New Map

Open your world editor and read the help, which is there.
That should get you started. As long as I remember, all the basics are there.

The second and most powerful method of learning is trial and error.
