Hi everybody: I don't know if this happens to you too. For some strange reason, I copy the maps in the scenario folder (C:\Program Files\Warcraft III\Maps\FrozenThrone\Scenario), but when I open Warcraft to play them, some of them are missing (they are not showed in the map list) What can I do??? thanks for your help. |

Ah, The maps might only be compatible for RoC not Frozen Throne. From my trial and error, that is what I found out, you cant play RoC maps on FT, you have to start in RoC instead. Hope I helped ![]() |

I had the same problem a few months ago. If any of the maps are in separate folders within the scenario folder, move them out of the folder, and place the map directly in the scenario folder. |

That makes sense. There should only be one root folder for scenarios for Blizzard shouldn't have to browse for you. |

This happens frequently to me for regular maps when I try to play those submitted. I don't know why it happens or what makes it stop happening, if anything. They've been w3x, so that's not the issue. |

Are you checking the right scenarios folder? there are 2 of them (one for ROC and one for TFT) Maybe some got put in another one? |

Perhaps WC3 can only handle a preset number of sub-directories. I'm not sure about it, but I've had this problem before. |

I personally solved this problem by copying the files first on the desktop, eventually decompressing them (if they were RARs or ZIPs) and then copied them into the folder and they worked. I always thought it was because I was usually a version behind the last version (before I had a good internet connection I had to stick to 1.07). ~Daelin |

I tried to remove special characters (- . etc) from the file names too, but nothing. If the bug persists I'll have to reinstall and see if it works. Thanks for your help guys. |

Well, it seems that you've already determined that the issue is specific to TFT maps, however, I thought I should post on the matter anyway. There seems to be a maximum length for the filepath, so if you have maps with long names that are several folders deep it may cause them not to appear in the listing. This seems similar to the problems mentioned by Killer_Mushroom and Phoenix Feather, however, I'm certain that the number of folders did not cause it because maps with short names did appear in the listing while the ones with longer names did not. |

Hey!!! I didn't know that, and it makes sense. I was already decided to reinstall WC for that annoying issue. As soon as I get home, I'll test it and I'll post my results. Thanks Naakaloh :) |

Oh, in that case, my suggestion would be to just put it in the Maps folder and rename it to something ridiculously short like "a". I assumed it's something you had already tried. ![]() |

Yes, you are correct, i found out about 8 months ago. This isent just Wc3, Win computers (never tested mac/linux) have a maxium filepath length. If you make about 30 folders, stack them all in each other, create a notepad doc called whatever, and put it the last folder, it will either not allow you, and if it does, try and open it with notepad, the file wont be their. Data can be lost by this method also, it can become unrecognised, as i noticed, i had important work in deep folders, and it was completly lost. I have had the problem with Wc3, i downloaded a cinematic, put it in a new folder inside Downloaded maps (wc3/maps), and it wasent their. |
