In my map, I was thinking of possibly making a little system with which kill streaks are lightly (emphasis on lightly) rewarded. Like, killing 15 heros in one life will get you, maybe, a cool secret item. (not one that adds 865772676615356 attack mind you, just one that may have a special effect, like spell immunity) The catch to these bonuses is they go away when your streak ends, and most don't stack. So what I'm asking is: 1. Is this a good idea AT ALL? 2. Any ideas on rewards /w # of kills needed to get them? I thought of making like a really progressive kill streak, like 1 kill earns you 50 gold, 2 kills 100, 3 kills 200, until the real bonuses kick in. |

It's a completely stupid idea. Spell immunity is also a stupid idea, while we're at it, as it effectively makes most active abilities worthless, lowering interaction. Why boost someone who is already far more powerful? |

an aos i dont dare to mention here solved it like this: streaks simlpy give some recogniton but no bonus. and in fact its making life harder for u: the bonus bounty on ur head is increased. |

I just add some more points if you get a spree; thus there's an incentive to do it and it does get you closer to winning, but there's no tangible effect on the hero. |

Let me tell you about spell immunity. In my AoS map, I had a set of super cool items for lots of cash in a secret shop. One of them gave spell immunity. Guess which one got picked most. RDZ's idea is pretty much the best thing you can do with kill streaks... Actually, it's the best thing you can do with hero kills in general, instead of awarding gold and experience which kills the balance of power between the teams. |

omg Griffen. Guys, Spell Immunity was an example!!! I don't have to use it! And besides, the bonuses aren;t like 10 kills: OMFGPWNZRD item. That'd be like the 50th kill. Most of the time, it's small amounts of gold, occaisonally a buff, sometimes an item, and even the creeps on your side get some help. @Griffen: Maybe if you had read, you would have noticed: Quote:
20 kills: Item of l33t pwnzrs, gives you 100000 attack. It's more like 20 kills: Bolt, makes an item which one time deals 1000 to a creep. Does this clear things up? Also, I may just make this available in a killstreak mode. |

One last time, the bonuses are small, and get better the more kills you acheive. You lose the bonuses (except for gold, but that's yet to be determined) when you die, and every 10 kills, the enemis also get a bonus to attempt to end the streak. It's not just like, "Oh, you get a streak, get an item, then die, and keep the item." It's more along the lines of, "You got 10 kills, you get Sword of Flames. The enemy now deals x1.5 damage to you.""You have died. Your bonuses have been lost, and the enemy has lost all offensive bonuses earned from your streak." Does THIS help clear things up some? |

This was well done in Gadden's Elimination. Whenever you killed someone, you got 1 gold, but also the bounty the enemy got when killing you was increased by one gold, so all gold advantage you gained by killing enemies was eventualy returned to them when they killed you. |

That's sort of what I'm talking about. Even though you get bonuses, the enemy also gets bonuses to counter you. |

Well, the only good thing I can think of is showing a "Killing Spree" message (and maybe even playing a sound...) when you reach, let's say, 20 kills in a row... |
