Step tangents and non-IK animation...

I tried to set the key tangents to step from the curve editor for the keys of an animation in wich I move the bones directly, without using IK, but it dosen't seem to work...anyone knows why or what am I doing wrong (I'm doing pose to pose keyframe animation wich is hell without step keys)?
P.S: I'm using 3ds max, as usual.

Are you animating for warcraft? If so, I would suggest to just use TCB and not Bezier, it always works for Warcraft, and it seems to work fine in Max. At least thats what I always use, and it gives good results.

I personally have never tryed step tangents. I have tryed using bezier though, and it didnt animate at all.

I am uing TCB...that has nothing to do with tangents, those are controllers. Step keys are only used for blocking in aniway, then you reset the tangents.

Oh sorry, when I looked up step tangents it said only with bezier, my mistake.

"TCB Controllers produce curve-based animation much like Bezier controllers. However, TCB controllers do not use tangent types or adjustable tangent handles. They use fields to adjust the Tension, Continuity, and Bias of the animation."

from max reference

Ive tested tangents using bezier, select the type of tangent from the animation panel. It works well in Warcraft.
