SRPS was a wildly popular in chanel RPG 1v1 duel map for SC. SRPS will now be ported to war3. The synoposis and what was in the SC version. There are 2 players, Each owner of a hero called the commander (the "commie"). The two heroes are identical each with 3 chooseable 3 level spells. (this was in the SC version too). One damage spell One power up spell One summon spell Each player can build 3 different units One Siege One Range One Warrior There is a food cap at 8 starting and 16 after level 4. The hero is reviveable at 25/50/75 mana. The XP was count down style to level. There were 5 levels. Only the hero could leave /enter the town, but he brings all troops with him. There were an infinite spawn of zerglings to get you Xp, but it was nothing versus killing player units. There also was a difficulty setting Easy showing you how to play and giving you a bonus helper. Meduim was easy sans the helper and the how-to plus a 1000 extra to the second level. And Hard level added another 2000 xp to the second level (the hardest level to obtain becuase you didn't have any units or the ability to revive). For war3 Version. I would like to keep the base of the map, only added a dimension of allowing you to customize your stats. And allowing you to customize your army. Allowing you to choose an Army base unit (changing the rest of the army), and getting rid of siege and replacing it with magic. Also to replace the siege tanks tower like ability you will now be able to build towers for 1 (0 for the ranger) food and 20 gold. Hero for War3: At level 1 you will gain your hero (shocker) and you can't build any units or revive. You will get 1 money per second as long as your hero lives. The hero acts as a food storage thing and supplies 8 food. At level 2 you be able to build your base unit, The base unit will aso act as your builder. The base unit will range in price. The base unit can build an altar to rev your hero. He can also build a Tower which differs depending on the base unit. (The rangers get a bunker which is why it is the only free food tower). At level 3 You will be able to build a mine, and a level 3 unit hall (allows you to build level 3 unit). The mine can be built on the small bit of creep in your base. This will increase your money gain by 1 gold and increases your supply by 8 food. YOU CAN ONLY BUILD 1 at this town. At level 4 you can build the level 4 hall. The level 4 hall allows you to purchase an upgrade for your level 2 unit to make him beter. (Ie. Adept Training for mage, Berserker Rage for wars, Range Booster for rangers) At level 5 you can build a forge. The forge allows you to purchase upgrades which affects every unit except the base unit. Unit info: You will be able basically build a race from your chosen base unit. Each race will include a melee unit, a ranger, and a primary spell caster. Also each will get there special tower. For instance the warrior base unit is melee, and its spell caster will be a paladin type unit, and its range unit will well suck (Head hunter much?) Tower info: Towers will be primarily for defense I stress this. Each tower will also work to represent the class. Mercenary Hero: A concept which was introduced in 3.0 of SRPS for SC. A special mercenary hero was hireable at level 5 which could gain 3 levels the mercenary did not get to chose his spells and they were auto-obtained. I'd like to add Mercenary Heroes which can be bought at any level (for a whooping 100 gold (full amount) and 8 food.) Expansions: Something I wanted to add to the SC version but would of just been hell to do. I would like 2 add 2 forts. These forts would come with a barracks, to conquer them just build a mine there. This mine will do the same exact thing as the mine in your base does, hence expanding is a very Nice thing to do. SRPS For SC and how it should work for WC3... The way SRPS worked was the first level was hard to get and most people went for the summon spell becuase it worked as a bullet sheild. (The summon spell was best of the 3 at level 1 but it started to slack as it continued (at level 3 it was a joke against an army, but raped the enemy town if left alone (uber zergling)). The damage spell was the most average spell that stayed decent throughout the whole game. And then there was the power up which admitedly was bad as level 1 and 2 At level 3 it was clearly the best spell but it ATE MANA (Aproximately 20 seconds of use with the trick to get 125). Ussually most players would go straight up going for the first pick spell until they maxed it. I would go myself ussually the bullet sheild, then I would choose rapid fire (the power up spell.) and max that at and finally get my last point into fireball. I would ussually wait till they left their town, send my summoned bullet sheild to distract them then send in the fireballs to blast their army from behind and finally power up into a marine to rip thier army to shreds. This stradegy worked well but ofcourse required alot of time...) The next level was a bit easier to get but was a lot longer to obtain (level 3). At level 3 most people stoped ling hunting and tried there luck against the hydras. Only to find that after slaughter 10 hydras and loosing half your army (Hydras were the bridge guard which were a max of 10 spawned and spawned 1 every 30 second) They only gained 3500 XP and still had 4000 Xp to go. After being able to cross the scary *** bridge it seemed best to merely attack the enemy base. This siege was ussually an utter failure as the guy hunting lings would pull back and swarm you in his town. Most people would go for level 4 at this point. Level 4 was probably the most rewarding level in the game at this point you had 16 supply (Wow!!) and could build tanks which could be used as towers. Level 5 was actually a secret introduced at around 2.97 becuase BoTD said it was short and after level 4 you really had nothing to do, except battle endlessly with riflers (tanks were a bit weak as of pre-2.96). Level 5 was a ridicolous 10,000xp more then level 4. and what was worse it didn't even tell how far you were in gaining this level. After gaining level 5 you got a clear advantage able to upgrade weapons and plating armor for your vehicles (Vulture (level 2 unit) and Tanks (level 4 unit)). Level 5 was rarely reached though, and most people didn't care about its lure and fabled exsistance. So in came the mercenary at level 5 you could purchase the mighty mercenary. The mercenary was weaker then the commy, and gained 2 more levels at comparitively easy 5000 XP levels (also invisible). The game was a blast, there was nothing quite like playing Cat and Mouse when you had the big army but were only level 4 and the other guy was level 5 and you destroyed his town. Since killing the guys town meant nothing (well no production of units for him), it was making sure the guy had no army and no commy. And it really depended on what spell you as the cat chose if your primary was Summon you might be really sorry as he pulls out Fire Demon 3 on you and turns your riflers and tanks into a nice explosion, or he turns into a marine and shoots up your advantage. Or maybe he could sneak into your town and unleash a level 3 summon (The ling was GOD at killing your town.) Or maybe hes training up a Merc to help him tip the tide of battle. So the question is should I make SRPS for War3 and if so anyone want to help me? |

Yeah, that sounds awesomer than anything I've seen yet! I never played it but I bet it will be a blast! I'm not to good at stuff like that I guess (I can do some triggers and terrain, but not much else really) but if you are desperate for help, I guess I can do some |

Sorry it actually is Simple Role-Playing-Stradegy. Later on I wanted to give a beter name but it would be to confusing and couldn't think of anything to change the title too that would still have the same 4 starting leters.. After 2.0 (when spells were added) nobody refered to it as simple and it just was easier to abreviate the **** out of it...so SRPS it was. |

Wow old post. Anyway good luck finding the SC versions. Very few people still have it...and I'm not one of them. As the war3 version has not been made yet I'm sad to say it doesn't exsist. I'd make it but I have lost the thrill of war3 mapping. It just doesn't have the thrill that Sc mapping does. Maybe after the Expo, as thats when I got really intrested in SC mapping. |
