I've based a spell off channel that is meant to be a self buff, the problem is channel doesn't give the unit the buff, i've changed almost nothing to the channel defaults, except in targets i've put self, and in buffs i've put my buff and 15 seconds in duration - hero and duration - normal

I doubt you can give buffs with channel, base you spell off of something else

Channel is (generally) pretty bad at being a dummy ability (despite the fact that it was made to be one).

Isn't Channel supposed to be used in conjunction with triggers? Just give the target unit(s) the buff and set its level accordingly within that trigger. Then make it so that the whatever the effect is will continue as long as the buff is still there. Also make sure something is in place to remove the buff after its duration passes (obviously).

You can't just give a unit a buff. You would have to use a dummy aura ability (tornado slow aura would be best, doesn't display an icon) to apply the buff.

Ack. I could have sworn you could give units buffs directly through triggers. Now I'm gonna have to change some things in my map. =\

But anyways, my advice still stands.

You cant give buffs like that, but with my CBuff system you can get pretty close.
