Hey Guys, I remember there used to be several tutorials on how to make a custom loadscreen. Before you say anything, I am seeking the 4 part high quality method. I know how to do the very simple low quality method. I searched the tutorial section and I could not find any tutorial that described this method. Would someone be kind enough to link to me or describe the method to get a high resolution loadscreen (I know it involves .tga and 4 "parts"). And no, WEU is useless program to me. I open it up and save my map without any changes and the map increases by 300 kb, what a peice of crap lol. Edit: Additional question. I remembered there was a way to do it with 4 squares and use .blp instead of .tga. Is this 4 square .blp method superior to the one 512x512 .blp way in terms of quality? |

I hope this isn't for a bnet map. |

I was actually planning on using this method for a bnet map. A map that has its own website and is popular enough that people will wait to download it when it is 2 mb in size. That map is of course Element TD. I only considered this option because I have a VERY high quality loadscreen being done by an artist for the game and I want to do it justice. I feel its a high quality game and deserves to be top notch in every aspect. Now can you do the 4 file method with .blps to produce a better image then the one 512x512 blp? |

Sure, just make the models use blps - Look at Blizzard's Monolith map for better a detailed explanation. Oh, and using map space on a loading screen for a bnet map is silly, but that's just my opinion. |

But will the 4 .blp method produce a better image then the one .blp method? |

Obviously. The 512x512 will stretch across the screen horribly, whereas the 4 blp one forms one big 1024x768 picture, which has a proper aspect ration and a higher resolution. |
