A deer 100% freehand.. people haven't liked my art in the past so I hope this is more up to the wc3campaigns standards.. I used a reference of a deer from a google images search, but I had to try 'n draw the head facing more towards us.

Sorry for the problems with anatomy.. I had trouble with the eyes and just the head in general...

I'd consider this good enough to stay in the gallery, yeah.

The title seems verry off though, you should saturate/brighten the colors if hes supposed to be in the headlights of a car... He doesnt look at all startled or illuminated by light.

I'll let crazy russian crit your anatomy stuff, it is what he does best.

I realy don't get it. First thing to do when you start drawing something is blocking in the proportions, nothing else.
The coloring is very messy and nasty.

i did try really hard on the anatomy but i had trouble with the head..
i appologize for the gray spots on the fur if that's what you're refering to with color tdr
i didn't upload the version with the light effect to illustrait the headlights of a car because that didn't show as much of the detail on the deer..

thanks.

you should have chosen a pic in wich you could clearly see the whole body of the deer, not like this one where part of it is covered by grass. Of course, CR will tell you not to draw from photos, but I bet you don't have a deer around. Untill then though draw still lifes to study how light falls on different volumes.

At least you can "clearly" see that the legs are at least as long as the hight of the torso. And on your pic they are only about 3/4 of the torso

And the legs aren't visible entirely on that ref pic.
