Models that don't need custom textures?

Hello everybody! I have seen some excellent models that don't use custom textures (I mean, .blp files) I was wondering how can I make a model that doesn't need custom textures.

...you simply use a texture from the game and match the UV map of your model to that texture.

And also you have to be careful when making them because its easy to end with stretched crappy results xD

that depends on how good you can UVW unwrap the model, the texture dosen't matter.
and yes, you must also change the texture path in the .mdl to the original path of the texture.

It depends in the texture also, considering it was not made for the model, that makes it a bit more difficult than just unwraping for making it with a texture sometimes.

What I mean is that the blizzard texture itself is not made for the model, making a bit difficult to make it look well, since the original texture might have been made for a sphere but you want to put it in a cube(just as an example).

If you plan on using in-game textures, you'd obviously shape the model so it will fit :/
