Hi SM:

This is a behaviour that looks a little weird for me.

I've tested a map 2v2 NE-Humans vs Undead-Orcs. The NE build a tree of life in an unusual place and then uses that tree of life as an attacker unit.

A very uncommon strategy, and obviosly it fails as you can see in the replay. I think it is a bug.

HI to everyone!

That's not a bug, I often see such behavour. I have not seen replay, but I think that AMAI wanted to plant it near gold mine, while it was guarded by mobs .

@drstardust: hey gd to see ya

@ moyack: Its an ancient expansion special strategy. The night elf builds tree early then uses the tree to complement its army to creep a mine early. Of course programming it has been most difficult. But being its not human it can therefore make mistakes :D I can reduce the percentage it occurs if people feel AMAI do it too often.

Now I had to say that this is the most annoying thing in the entire mod, Orc sucks here. 1stly burrows sometimes built infront of base (Yeeha easy for rushing them).

And 2ndly. Mass woodcutters and 5 workers on gold mine after early tech (the lowest income ever).

And 3rdly. OMFG everytime a peon brings gold back to the main hall, he actually stops a while and changes his gathering stats from wood to gold and from gold to wood (1 out of 5 peons).

Great mod, though these issues really makes the orc sucking here. Don't get me wrong, But If I see orcs sucking I get frustrated :P.

1. Hardcoded issue
2. Can you specify what roughly there peon arrangement should be like
3. I noticed this too. I still not sure wether its our doing or hardcoded.

I ment that before researching Tier 2, only 3 peons gather gold but lots on wood (9-10 Oo), Then while researching Tier 2, +2 peons come and gather gold (you've already wasted 500 gold or so by this meathod...).

After Issue 2, Issue 3 takes place..

Hi. I've been playing AMAI for a while (since 2.43NYE), and I'm glad to see that it's still being worked on. Great work Strategy Master!

Just playing a game with an Insane NE (I was Human). I'm not very good at this game, but I won anyway because of some gross mistakes in the AI. I would like to see the following happen:

1. If NE has around 8 DOTCs and a Tree of Eternity, they should get Master training ASAP, even more so if the AI has tons of money. I killed way too many Initiate DOTCs with my Rifles. If they were in Bear form, I wouldn't have stood a chance.
2. Despite having around 6-8 rifles all game, AMAI decided to build lots of Dryads. Also, the Dryads weren't focusing down my Priests, which was their only good use considering my army setup.
3. If AMAI decides to get a Tinker, it should go Cluster Rockets instead of Pocket Factory. Since the AI doesn't do Tinker/Pocket Factory harasses, it should go with the more anti-army skill.

Here's the replay. 1v1 on Terenas Stand.

Sorry late response. Had hell of last few days at work. Plus getting internet sorted out at another house yuck.

1. Ok, i will look into balancing upgrade usage further.
2. Hmmm, interesting sounds like could be strategy bugs
3. Will look into it or get a goblin tinker harass working :)

hi, ive been playing with AMAI for a week now i just discovered it when i want to search for some AI profiles for blizzard AI and i see AMAI this one makes war3 more fun to play. anyway this replay is a 4vs4 team game random selected race, its 4 NE vs 3 human 1 orc map is deadlock. AI's use of town portal scroll is still not 100% efficient. more power to AMAI team

The Tinker harass is pretty much the same as all other heroes: get a skill that deals high damage fast, like Pocket Factory, use a potion of invisibility to sneak into the enemy peon line, and start whacking peons. When you're done, or the enemy starts coming, use a staff of teleportation to get away.

The two key items here are the potion of invisibility and the staff of teleport. Other good, but optional, items are Boots of Speed and Circlets of Nobility (for extra mana).

Later on, the harassing hero should be at level 3 or higher. As long as the enemy doesn't have a ridiculous tower defense at their base, this harass can be abused again and again. Mana potions are good at this point. If AMAI were to do this, it should be have a L3 hero because anything less is too hard to micro.

Good heroes for this are...

Human:
Archmage - Spam Blizzard. Skills are L2 Blizzard and L1 Brilliance Aura.
Mountain King - Spam Clap and Bolt. Skills are L2 Clap, and L1 Bolt.
Paladin (only vs. Undead) - Extremely deadly and unstoppable to undead. L2 Holy Light will nearly kill an acolyte, and 1 more hit will finish them off. Getting L1 Divine Shield is also useful. Combine it with staff usage, and it's like a TP. Also use Divine Shield with a Clarity potion and the enemy can't remove the mana regen until Divine Shield wears off.
Blood Mage - Spam Flamestrike. Even more effective vs. Orc players who like to build burrows next to their Peon line. Also, a carefully placed Flamestrike can hit all 5 acolytes on a gold mine! Get L2 Flamestrike and other L1 skill is your choice.

Orc:
Far Seer - Spam Lightning and dogs. Which skill you get to L2 depends on tower defenses. For heavy defense, you should get Lightning, light defense should get dogs.
TC - Spam Shockwave. Get L2 Shockwave and L1 Endurance Aura.
Blademaster - He's the inventor of this type of harass with Wind Walk. Simply backstab as many peons as you can. Don't know if it's possible for AMAI to micro this.
Shadow Hunter - Can only use Serpent Wards for harassing, but still good against all races except Human. Wards need good placement in safe spots though, and I don't think AMAI could find them.

Night Elf:
Demon Hunter - Immolation at L2, Evasion at L1. Nuff said.
Keeper - Entangle peons and focus. L2 Entangle, L1 other skill of your choice.
Warden - L2 Fan of Knives vs. Undead and Human, L2 Shadow Strike vs. Orc and NE. The other skill is your choice.
Priestess - Her harass is a special long term harass, and isn't compatible with this strat. Doesn't work. AMAI couldn't even micro this harass anyway.

Undead:
Death Knight - Death Coil L2, other L1 skill of your choice. Nuff said.
Lich - Extremely deadly! Get Frost Nova at L2, and watch those peons die like flies! Other L1 skill is your choice.
Dreadlord - Spam Carrion Swarm. Skills are L2 Carrion and L1 Vampiric Aura.
Crypt Lord - His skills don't deal damage fast enough here, tight base layouts can get him stuck easily. Doesn't work here.

More harassing stuff to consider...

Neutral:
Naga - Spam Forked Lightning. Only L1 Frost Arrows are necessary, with L2 Forked Lightning.
Dark Ranger - Another long term harass like the PotM. Doesn't work here.
Panda - Yet another reason why this guy is overpowered. Get L2 Breath and kill the peons along with their buildings! Other skill is your choice.
Beastmaster - Can be very effective with L2 Hawk. Get L1 Quillbeast so that it can attack from a safe distance.
Pit Lord - Rain of Fire L2 is extremely dangerous. The Pit Lord isn't as bad as most think, because RoF's range makes up for his cumbersome movement. Get L1 Cleaving Attack as other skill.
Firelord - Only effective if you can find a safe spot for your Lava Spawns to attack. Against good base layouts, the Firelord is worthless. AMAI probably can't pull this off.
Alchemist - L2 Acid Bomb with L1 Rage is better than nothing, but he's still not a good harasser. Not recommended.
Tinker - Pocket Factory is excellent here. For Orc and Human, you can spawn the factory between their town hall and gold mine, slowing their harvesting. Against all races, the factory can be used as a wall to prevent units from entering or running away through a critical choke. Also, factory bots deal fast damage, in addition to their splash damage on death. AMAI can just plop down a factory between town hall and gold mine and be very effective.

I finally figured out a good strat around Cluster Rockets. It works well enough.

Here's the replay, 1v1 on Terenas. I'm Orc.

Just a little thing, whenever I want to play against AMAI 2.5 beta 9 with my friends in LAN games, everybody is disconnected except the host and I don't know why. We can't play with AMAI beta 9 in LAN game but beta 8 works ! Is it a bug or is it a mistake ?
Thanks again SM.
