The edges don't look really sharp.

I know but I don't know how to make it do. :(

select all the edge edges and chamfer them with a very small value.

how many polygons? (just to know if I keep it here or move it to high poly)

3456 polygons.

But chamfering opens the edges making them more blunt. :S

Edit:
I tested a new method which have far less options of the blades edge shape but way easier to make and fewer polygons (now the model has 1257). However when I render with the UVW complete on the blade, it looks strange.

I tried to increase the contrast in the picture, that's why it is so dark. In the render window you see a strange line. If you look really close in the perspecive view you see a strange line there as well. Any idea wha this could be?

You must have ment extrude the edges rather than chamfer. Extruding them seems promsing but it doesn't give good result.

no, I meant CHAMFER

Hm still I don't understand how to do.

Btw I made a new one, using another method. This one has 940 polygons. I removed the smooth modifier from the blade parts since it looks much better when you can see the middle edge. But if you zoom in you can see the faces on the lower blade part.

I know the 2nd is far better looking but I didn't want to make them all look the same so I made this one very different. Btw you don't like the kris-blade either? I am experimenting on a new method of making glass blades. :)

Edit:
New one with damascus steel blade, supposed to be.

Imo the second version of the first blade is still best.(second last pic)

New dagger added, a khanjar. Using premade materials. Also changed the parry things' texture on the second one. 7070 polygons, the parry thing is what takes most of them. After I had made most of it I wanted it to look rounder so I added a mesh smooth.

Damn those kris and khanjar blades are evil to shape to get good length and curve! Any one know any good method to make a good kris blade?

Edit:
Ah finnaly I was able to make a nice kris blade! 2404 polygons. Blade is mesh smoothed. Blade and grip material premade.

Edit:
New dagger. Based on one those at www.lutel.cz.
