Custom Unit Data in mpq's

Ok, i've set up a bunch of custom units using the Object Editor in the World Editor. Is it possible for me to extract this data from the map and put it into a custom patch.mpq for use in a Total Conversion? If so, how. If not, can somone give me a crash course on editing the various files i need to edit to change the various forms of object data?

If you use widetizer on the map (make a separate copy to do this) it will convert the WE object files in to the slk files that the MPQ's use. You should then be able to replace the standard ones with the ones that widgetizer generates in your map.

Also you don't need to import the files into patch.mpq.
Widgetizer makes a TFT Patch.exe file for you. With that you can start the game with your files "injected".
You can also open that exe file with an mpq editor to add more custom files that should be loaded.

though you might have to open the TFT patch with WINMPQ and delete a few things, I'm not sure if it keeps the triggers and terrain in there.

Ok, i use the Widgetizer to slkify all the files, i extract them from the map, put them into my customised HoS.mpq and run the HoS.exe. Bam, they don't work, all the ability data is dead and the tooltips are screwed.

However, out of boredom i used the TFT Patch.exe Widgetiser makes, and POOF, all my customised slks work! Everything is great with the minor issue that it runs the normal War3Patch.mpq and so all my custom models arn't in the game. So i can now choose to have incorrect Data or incorrect Models...

Pitzer, is there any possibility you could reprogram the Widgetiser (or tell me how to) so that when it creates that little TFT Patch.exe and Editor Patch.exe instead of using the War3Patch.mpq it uses HoS.mpq? This is really annoying and i really want to get this fixed.

I'll try to think of a better solution, right now the only thing I can come up with is using Grimoire to inject both the TFTPatch.exe and your own .mpq.
