I posted the concept for this model earlier in the concept art forum http://www.wc3campaigns.net/showthread.php?t=87745 , wich was still wip, and here are a few wip pics of the mesh.

It's still far from finished but alread over 600 polys (the head and feet have a lot).

And don't mind the arms, they will be wings later, but I haven't done much on them.

And I also still need to think of a name...

Edit:
Pics updated.

Edit:
Pics updated again, mesh 90 % finished

Edit:
Texture preview uploaded.

Edit 7 okt:
More texture previews, though I still need to fix the normals on the wings.

Edit 8 okt:
I finished the mesh, UV and texture. And I uploaded some preveiws of them.
second edit: posed shot added

Looking promesing. Why do nobody make 4-legged dragons which walks on 2?

Because four legged dragons walk on all four legs.

There is no such rule about fictional creatures.

How many polygons (including symmetri effect)? What program do you use?

That one half has 550 polys, that makes 1100 polys. And I still want to add spikes on the back, so it'll be just over 1000 polys.

And like always, I use Vertex Modifier, this dragon was completely made from scratch out of a cone.

What a pain to make things that way. With your modeling interrest and skill don't you think it would be worth to buy some program like milkshape?

When I see the so nice shape on the wings I wonder if I should remake the oens of the model I am working on.

That is rather impressive.

its is awesome, and u did it in vertex modifier? wow, why dont u use 3dsmax5 if u hav it? its easier

So far I didn't get a shit of max, so I continued with vertex modifier. and imo it's easy to make something like this in vertex modifier, it probably just takes a little while longer, and I did this in one day, I only started this morning.

oh, and btw, the current poly count is 1092

There are tons of tutorials. Just make a box with some segments, convert it to a mesh or add a mesh modifier and start extruding polygons and moving vertices and adding those wonderful modifiers such as bend and taper.

Update:
With some searching on wikipedia and opinions of Mecheon and Rao Dao Zao, I've chosen the name Lindormr for this dragon.
It's a type of scandinavian dragon, and Lindormr is the old norse way of spelling it.
